The two big stacks on the final table just tangled, and Gary Lucci was on the wrong end of things and he has been eliminated in 5th place despite holding on to a top-3 stack for the past couple of hours!
First the scene was set as George Iliacopoulos did a fine job of chipping up to move from being one of the short-stacks in the event all the way to chip leader with 6 left. He barely covered Gary, bt both of them had a big advantage over all 3 of the other remaining players.
When the fateful hand arrived, Gary simply open shoved from early position – only to find a reshove from George, who was directly to his left in poker terms, but at the other end of the table in actual fact. Everyone else folded and the cards were turned over.

George had the pocket rockets – and Gary was drawing extremely thin.
The board had not a glimmer of hope for Gary: and he hit the rail in 5th. George, meanwhile, had just a shade under 1M of the 1.75M total chips in play.
5th place: Gary Lucci, $460
