Domenico Macri, the short stack on the table, was running out of options. When the action folded to him on the button, he decided it was time to take a chance. He would either steal the blinds, double up or make his exit. Unfortunately for him, the big blind, Joshua Caballero, woke up with a big hand, making Macri more likely to be eliminated than any of the other options.
Macri moved all in from his button with pocket twos. But Caballero looked down at pocket eights and quickly made the call. There was no set or helpful run out to save Macri, and Caballero’s pocket pair stood, sending Macri to the rail in sixth place.
Macri will pocket $540 for the deep run.
