Chabot takes down a couple of kings

Table 59 has seen a good patch of action, as Anderson F and Michael Zenetzis preside over it with large amounts of chips, putting them to work. On that same table, Richard Chabot opened a pot and Pierre Maltais went all-in for a little under 40K. Chabot, covering that amount easily, made the call.

Maltais: King of Diamonds King of Hearts
Chabot: 6 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds

Board: 8 of Spades 3 of Hearts 6 of Spades 7 of Hearts Queen of Diamonds

The 6 appeared in the window and Maltais knew right away that he was drawing to 2 outs. No saviour king showed up, and Maltais finished in 14th place. William Blais followed, after holding on to a small stack longer than anyone predicted.

After 10 levels of play and with 17 players left, Mike Lafable shows the lead. Walking around the tables, we couldn’t find a stack worth twice the average, until we got to Lafable’s seat. With 161,000 chips, he is the only player currently above the 100K mark.

He reportedly flopped a bottom set against an ace-king top-top on the flop and a third player assaulting both monsters.

The event will soon break into 2 tables of 8.

The first event of the Playground Power Weekend is closing in on the prizes. With 22 players left in the field, there is still a lot of work to do to make the final, but players can now see it.

With 72 entries, including 56 unique players and 16 re-entries, 9 players are getting paid today. This number is quite convenient, as the final table of an 8-Max event starts 9-way. Make the final, get paid.

$2,444 is up top… Not too bad for an $110 buy-in!

After 6 levels of play, Michael Zenetzis shows a whopping 94,500 stack, or over 6 times the starting stack! Chris Arvanitis also clinched a top 3 spot after hurting Diego Aguilar, who was doing very well before that ordeal. In 3rd place, Anderson F, playing all out on his second bullet.

Michael Zenetzis was in the small blind and facing a few limpers when he elected to raise the 200 blind to 825 chips. Only Hicham Hammoud called, from the button. The continuation bet was delayed. Zenetzis fired 2K on the turn, 3.5K on the river, and the value came in.

Zenetzis: Jack of Diamonds Jack of Spades

Board: 7 of Spades King of Spades 5 of Clubs 2 of Clubs 10 of Hearts

Zenetzis saw clearly on the river when he elected to press the value, despite the presence of an over card.

On a nearby table, Nabil Nahoul managed to double an almost full stack, much to Anderson’s demise. Anderson F had placed a large bet and was virtually forced to complete the all-in bet, to find out that he was drawing to a handful of mysterious boat outs – we did not get to see his cards.

Nahoul: King of Spades 8 of Spades

Board: 5 of Diamonds 7 of Spades 10 of Spades Jack of Spades Jack of Hearts

Anderson was crippled in the hand and busted a few moments later.

There is one hour left to the registration period. Come join the action!
