Event #10: Demondehare/Ravary are the winning team!

    2018/10/08 - 4:32 by Playground Poker

Heads up action lasted only for a short period, but all the team members got a chance to play.

The final hand came when short stack Alexandre Morel was holding 3 of Clubs 10 of Hearts as he went all-in.

He immediately got a call from Patrice Ravary who tabled 8 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds

The community cards reflected the luck Ravary/Demondehare had received throughout the final table: 6 of Spades 7 of Spades 5 of Diamonds 4 of Spades 3 of Hearts with the turn giving them an eight-high straight. And that put a close to the memorable Tag Team Event here in the October Power Weekend Event #10. Congratulations to all the winners.

The champions: Patrice Ravary (left) and Martin Demondehare (right), $5,255

    The winning hand

Maxime Turcotte (left) and Alexandre Morel (right) finish in 2nd place with $4,655

With the elimination of team Asselin/Riendeau, Patrice Ravary & Martin Demondehare and Alexandre Morel & Maxime Turcotte are ready to battle on.

Both teams were in the lead when the money deal was made. This means that both teams have a $4,655 guaranteed payout and now they will play for the remaining $600… and bragging rights.

This final table has been filled with laughter, jokes and crazy antics throughout. Bursts of laughter would erupt every once in a while, a surefire testimony to the players’ camaraderie and friendly rivalry. As Nancy Asselin and Robert Riendeau left the play area they both splashed Maxime Turcotte’s chips everywhere with a grin.

    Let the best men win!

After a lengthy 3-handed session Nancy went all-in, and received a call from Martin Demondehare.

Nancy Asselin & Robert Riendeau: Ace of Hearts 7 of Hearts

Martin Demondehare & Patrice Ravary: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Hearts

As the dealer took out the board 8 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds 7 of Spades Nancy’s happy shriek pierced the silence upon seing her 7 in the window. The 3 of Hearts on the turn simply paired the board. Nancy did not want an eight to split the pot; she wanted it all!

Unfortunately an eight might have been better than the Queen of Diamonds on the river that sealed her team’s fate, giving two higher pairs to team Demondehare/Ravary.

Team Nancy Asselin & Robert Riendeau – 3rd position, $3500

Team Iacovella/Masciotra out in 4th position

    • Level: 24
    • Small Blind: 25K
    • Big Blind: 50K
    • Button Ante: 25K
    • Chip Average: 1,267K
    • Remaining: 3

Chips are flying, all-in cards are coming ou in almost every hand. The lead in chips is going from one team to the next without fail.

In one decisive hand Iacovella/Masciotra went all-in with King of Spades Queen of Hearts .

They got called by Team Demondehare/Ravary holding: Ace of Spades Jack of Spades

and by Team Morel/Turcotte with: Ace of Clubs Queen of Spades

The board came out 10 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs 5 of Diamonds 10 of Hearts awarding the win to Team Morel/Turcotte who eliminated Team Iacovella/Masciotra and scooped a side pot from Team Demondehare/Ravary.

    So it’s a 4th place finish for Team Lapointe/Locas and $3,500

Tag Team: A deal is struck!

    • Level: 24
    • Small Blind: 25K
    • Big Blind: 50K

After playing several levels 6-handed the players have put the clock on hold to discuss a deal. They tried twice to come to an agreement but to no avail.

This time, however, a quick suggestion from Martin Demondehare met with everyone’s approval.

As per event tournament rules, 2% of the total prize pool ($600) is reserved for the winning team. The four shortest stacks are to receive $3500 and the remainder is to be split between the 2 chip leading teams.

    George KazarianDiana "Lady Di"380,000$3,500
    Nancy AsselinRobert Riendeau305,000$3,500

Short after the deal was struck, Team Diana / George Kazarian and team Yan Lapointe / Stephane Locas went all in. They got a single call from Team Martin Demondehare / Patrice Ravary. At that moment Martin/Patrice were still chip leaders, and everyone tabled their hands.

George/Diane: Jack of Clubs Queen of Hearts

    Stephane/Yan: 4 of Hearts 4 of Spades

Martin/Patrice: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Hearts

The dry board 3 of Diamonds 3 of Clubs Jack of Hearts 7 of Hearts King of Diamonds didn’t help any of the lower stacked teams and the bullets gave an even bigger lead to Martin Demondehare & Patrice Ravary.

So Diane “Lady Di” and George Kazarian finish in 6th position, $3,500

and Yan Lapointe & Stephane Lacasse finish in 5th position, $3,500
