Thohahente McComber wins Event #11 Single Rebuy

    2018/10/08 - 5:13 by Playground Poker

Heads up action between Theo Psihogios and Thohahente McComber lasted only one hand – that’s all McComber needed.

No sooner had the dealer set up the table for the heads up action that Theo went all-in. He received a “call” before the echo of his all-in had even abated.

Both men turned over their hands with a smile. Theo was by far the shortest stack and had obviously decided to gamble with any hand, before the blinds chewed through his stack. Both hands ended up being quite respectable:

Theo: 10 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds

Thohahente: 9 of Hearts Jack of Hearts

Theo was happy with his top pair on the flop: 2 of Spades 10 of Hearts 3 of Hearts although he wasn’t thrilled with the hearts.

His instincts would prove spot on as the remaining cards put an end to the tournament 4 of Spades 5 of Hearts by giving Thohahente a flush.

After a lightening fast heads up we have crowned our winner: Thohahente McComber!

    Congratulations to all our winners!

Thohahente Mccomber – Winner of Event #11 Single Rebuy, $2,615

    The winning hand

    Theo Psihogios – 2nd place, $1,725

George Anastassopoulos goes home in 3rd place

    2018/10/08 - 5:03 by Playground Poker

Immediately after the elimination of Patrick Longpre in 4th position, George Anasatassopoulos went all-in. He was called by Thohahente McComber, who is having a spectacular run here tonight.

The two hands were tabled and showed a classic duel.

George: 7 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds

Thohahente: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Spades

The flop was all Thohahente needed.

Board: 10 of Spades King of Hearts Jack of Spades King of Diamonds 6 of Hearts

So George Anastassopoulos finishes in 3rd position.

    George Anastassopoulos – 3rd place, $1,985

Patrick Longpre out in 4th position

    2018/10/08 - 4:58 by Playground Poker

With the elimination of Emile H., Patrick Longpre was now the shortest stack on the table.

On his turn he quickly looked at his hole cards and quietly said: “all-in”. Thohahente Mccomber called. But then George Anastassopoulos, who had been pretty quiet in the previous levels, also raised all-in. Mccomber instantly called and all men tabled their hands.

Patrick Longpre: Ace of Clubs 10 of Hearts

George Anastassopoulos: King of Hearts Jack of Spades

Thohahente Mccomber: King of Clubs Jack of Clubs

All players laughed upon seeing identical hands on the table. Patrick felt good, knowing that his rivals were cancelling each other’s outs.

The flop was very promising for Longpre 9 of Spades 7 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds No one was holding diamonds so the flush was never an issue. All Patrick had to do was avoid the 2 remaining kings and 2 remaining jacks.

The turn gave Patrick a nasty surprise: King of Spades. And the river sealed his fate even more King of Diamonds

Patrick goes home in 4th position with $2,160, the second largest prize tonight.

    Patrick Longpre – 4th position, $2,160

    Last break for Event #11

    2018/10/08 - 4:49 by Playground Poker

The players went on a short break, while the tournament director and dealer performed the 1,000 chip race.

We got a complete chip count from our last 4 players. Thohahente Mccomber continues to dominate the table in chips, with 80% of the total chip count.

The players are now taking their seats for the last leg of this tournament.

Emile H. sent to the rail in 5th position

    2018/10/08 - 4:42 by Playground Poker

As soon as the ICM deal was struck Emile got a hand he could go all-in with: Jack of Hearts Queen of Clubs with the little chips he had left. He knew at least one call was coming.

Leading in chips, Thohahente Mccomber easily made the call with King of Spades 5 of Spades

No one hit the community cards 2 of Clubs 3 of Clubs 10 of Diamonds 2 of Spades 4 of Hearts so Thohahente won with king high.

This meant the end for Emile H. who did not get the opportunity to play many hands tonight on the final table. Being the shortest stack when the ICM deal was stuck he goes home with the smallest prize from the 5-handed table.

    Emile H. – 5th position, $1,515

Event #11 Single Rebuy: A deal is struck

    2018/10/08 - 4:17 by Playground Poker

After the elimination of Marc Quenneville in 6th position, the five remaining players stopped the clock to discuss a possible deal. At their request, a chip count was performed and the Tournament Director made the ICM calculations.

As per tournament rules, 2% of the pot had to be kept aside for the crowned winner of the tournament. Once given the numbers, all the players quickly agreed to the chop, which would reflect their stack size at that moment. Chip leader Thohahente Mccomber was set to receive the largest prize.

An amount of $280 was put aside for 1st place and the remaining money in the prize pool was divided as shown on this table:
