Level 7 is underway now in Event #12 in the October Power Weekend and the tournament attracted a total of 128 entries, 81 of whom are still seated at tables in the event. It’s too early in the tournament to have a full leaderboard, but there were two players whose stacks were notable: Jean Luc Desormeaux has already put together a stack of 111,000 chips, while Pierre Bouchard is right behind with about 90,000. When we surveyed the room we noted several other players in the 75K-85K range as well.

There are over 100 players now in today’s bounty tournament and registration has not closed – there’s more than an hour left to join – this is going to be a blockbuster!

It’s Thanksgiving Monday, and there are two Bounty tournaments scheduled today to wrap up the October Power Weekend here at Playground Poker Club. First up is the $90 + $10 + $25 NL Hold’em Bounty, which is starting now in the Tournament Hall. This tournament has a tidy $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. Note that the guarantee in any bounty event includes both the “normal” prize pool and the money locked up in players’ Bounty chips, each of which is worth $25 for this event.

Players start with 20,000 in tournament chips and play through 20 minute levels until a champion is crowned. Blinds start at 25/50 and starting in level 2, there will be a button ante every hand. Late registration is available until the beginning of level 6 – in other words, until 2:15pm.
