    Tremblay out 11th

    • Level: 17
    • Small Blind: 5K
    • Big Blind: 10K
    • Button Ante: 10K
    • Chip Average: 175K
    • Remaining: 10
    • Entries: 70

Vincent Tremblay has been eliminated in 11th place, meaning that the 10 remaining players will now be brought together on the final table. Franco Casarcia is the player that took Tremblay out – after Vincent went all in from the button but couldn’t fade the blinds as Franco in the sb made the call.

Vincent: Queen of Clubs 9 of Diamonds
Franco: Ace of Hearts 9 of Hearts

Dominated! The flop of 7 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts 5 of Hearts brought with it the slight hope of a gutshot chip, but the Ace of Clubs on the turn was a killer, and the Queen of Spades on the river was too little, too late. Vincent hit the rail in 11th place and the final table was established.

McKinnon chips up at the right time

    • Level: 16
    • Small Blind: 4K
    • Big Blind: 8K
    • Button Ante: 8K
    • Chip Average: 110K
    • Remaining: 16
    • Entries: 70

The feeling in the room has been friendly and convivial all afternoon, and when the bb came around to Michael McKinnon he tried the old and almost 100% unsuccessful tactic of “suggesting” that he get a walk. Rene Theberge, playing from utg, was having none of it – he opened all-in for a stack that was much bigger than a desperation stack. Action folded all the way around to Michael… who made the call.

Rene: 9 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds
Michael: Ace of Spades King of Hearts

The flop was all it took to give Michael a lead he would not relinquish: 2 of Diamonds 6 of Hearts King of Hearts. The turned Ace of Diamonds just made things more secure, and the river 3 of Diamonds was a blank.

    Lucci takes the lead

Gary Lucci had a bit of an experience getting this deep – he had to re-enter at least once that we noticed – but now that he’s arrived, he’s making the best of his run, having already accumulated 178,500 chips – almost 50K more than his next rival.

Play is now in level 11 and there are just 28 players left out of the 70 total entries that entered today. Eric Houle’s elimination was pretty typical – he got it on on the button holding Ace of Spades 5 of Spades and the Sebastien Hendren made the call from the bb.

Eric: Ace of Spades 5 of Spades
Sebastien: 3 of Hearts 3 of Diamonds

Eric couldn’t fine a pair as the board ran out 2 of Clubs 6 of Hearts 7 of Clubs 4 of Hearts 9 of Hearts and his day was done. Sebastien stacked the chips to move him into a quite strong position moving forward.

The final levels of late entry are always wild in a re-entry tournament, and this one is no exception! There are some over-sized stacks in the possession of several players at the moment – we’ll get counts during the next break in about 5 minutes – and we just caught the tail-end of a 4-way all-in hand in which a pair of Kings held against a pair of Queens, a pair of Eights, and Jack-Ten on a Ten-high flop!

As mentioned above, players will go on break at the end of this level, and late registration will close at the end of this pause in the action.
