With 9 players still remaining, the players in Event #7 went on a break and we took the opportunity to get full chip counts for all 9 players. Danny Boudreau has taken a narrow lead on Michel Patenaude, and both players have a significant chip edge on the remaining field.

Play has reached the final table in Event #7. There has been a full seating redraw, as usual, and the players are seated according to the following table.

As we were preparing this info, Simon Fortin was eliminated from Seat 3, so there are now just 9 players remaining.

In a hand between two relatively short-stacked players, Fady Habashi got it in against Ibrahim Ozor, and there was a tiny bit of relief tinged by a dose of frustration for both players when they both turned over the same hand.

The flop came and someone else at the table just had to call it, “whoa, running diamonds…” And that’s exactly what happened! The flop and turn came and Fady had made a flush – while Ibrahim just stared in disbelief.

Play in Event #7 is now down to 18 players as the bubble burst after just a couple of hands of hand-for-hand play – local tournament player Billy K was the unfortunate player to exit in 21st. Everyone remaining is now in the money, and the tournament has been consolidated on 2 tables.

Since the bubble there have been two huge hands – and in one of them, Michel Patenaude took out two players and grew his stack to just about 700K – potentially vaulting him directly into the bigger money slots on the final table. Only time will tell!

Michel Patenaude has taken the lead in Event #7 as the tournament is now just 5 players away from the money! Play has resumed in level 15 and just 25 players remain out of the 154 that began the tournament this afternoon.

20 places will pay in the tournament with a min-cash coming in at $120, going all the way up to the top prize of $2,387!
