Mireille Desardins is sent to the rail in 6th place

    2018/10/07 - 2:39 by Playground Poker

Mireille Desjardin was the next lady caught under Manon Frechette’s hammer.

Mireille was low on chips when she decided to go all-in.  Manon snap called with Big Slick.

Mireille:  Jack of Clubs 9 of Clubs

Manon: Ace of Spades King of Spades

Both players hit on the Ace of Hearts 9 of Spades Jack of Hearts flop but Mireille was solidly ahead with 2 pairs.

The 6 of Diamonds on the turn changed nothing, but Mireille’s fate was sealed with famous ace on the river : Ace of Clubs giving Manon trips.

This spelled the end for Mireille and she finished in 6th place.

Christine Park out in 7th position

    2018/10/07 - 2:00 by Playground Poker

The ladies were certainly off to a slow start this evening. It took almost 5 levels to get the first elimination. Let’s just say the the end game is far more aggressive and intense. Manon Frechette who’s know a great day here at Playground continues to scoop the chips.

Manon’s first victim was Christine Park. Both players were all-in preflop.

Christine Park: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Clubs

Manon Frechette: Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs

The flop was good for Christine: King of Hearts 2 of Spades 5 of Hearts.

Manon could be heard whispering: “All I need are 2 more hearts,” with a huge smile.
Lady luck must have been eavesdropping because sure enough, the turn was 7 of Hearts and the river: 8 of Hearts.
So Manon sent Christine to rail with nut flush.

    Christine Park – 7th position, $130

Vera G. out in 8th place in the Women’s Event.

    2018/10/07 - 0:48 by Playground Poker

Before play started with 8 players left, the ladies made a bubble agreement. $115 was put aside for the bubble, taken from the first position payout. This allowed all the ladies at the final table to get a piece of the prize.

Vera G. who has known a great run today, was knocked out as bubble in the 8th position.

    Brigitte Thomas out 9th

    • Level: 17
    • Small Blind: 6K
    • Big Blind: 12K
    • Button Ante: 12K
    • Chip Average: 188K

    2018/10/07 - 0:21 by Playground Poker

After only a few hands Brighitte Thomas has been sent home in 9th position.

The remaining 8 players have stopped the clock to discuss a deal to pay the 8th (bubble) position.

    Women’s Event : Final table!

    • Level: 16
    • Small Blind: 5K
    • Big Blind: 10K
    • Button Ante: 10K
    • Chip Average: 187
    • Remaining: 8
    • Entries: 50

    2018/10/07 - 0:14 by Playground Poker

The clock has been paused to setup the final table of the Women’s event.

The table will be 9-handed because the last hand eliminated 2 players. The prizes are on the boards and the ladies are taking their seats.

Vera G. takes the lead in the Women’s Event

    • Level: 15
    • Small Blind: 4K
    • Big Blind: 8K
    • Button Ante: 8K
    • Chip Average: 107K
    • Remaining: 14
    • Entries: 50

    2018/10/06 - 23:48 by Playground Poker

The ladies took a well deserved break while the Tournament Director removed the 25 chips. We went to the tables to see who was in the lead, aiming for stacks above 180K.

Only 2 players have achieved that amount: Vera G. was in 2nd place on the last leader board, missing the top spot held by Lucie Lee, by only a few chips.

The positions have inverted since the last break and now Vera is the chip leader with 244,000 chips, ahead of Lucie who has 226,000. So once again the gap is very narrow between both ladies, as they cling to their lead.
