We arrived at table #17 to witness a heartbreaking crush for Charles Etienne Trudeau.

The flop was already out:   and both Charles Etienne Trudeau and Domenico Macri were reflecting on Rejean Grenier’s sizeable bet.

Charles called, Domenico went all-in and Charles called, visibly worried for his hand.

And to both men’s dismay Rejan flipped over his hand: for trip 7’s.

Domenico was hoping for a queen and Charles Etienne was wishing for two more diamonds or an ace.  Unfortunately for both men the turn and river were no help to either of them.

The monster pot went to Rejean Grenier.  Charles Etienne picked up a small side pot for Domenico Macri who had the largest stack at the start of the hand.

As we were going around the tables to get nice shots of the players, one word seemed to echo a little more than the others: “All-in!”.

Obviously it’s to be expected in a bounty tournament, but the 50/50 tournaments, which make the bounty chips equal to the buy-in fee, are always a little more intense.

The tournament is in it’s early levels. We currently have 123 entries and the people are coming in at a steady pace.

The 50/50 Bounty tournament is getting underway here in the Tournament Hall. We now have 5 tournaments running and the action is on!

The room is buzzing with the sounds one expects in a poker room: chips being shuffled, blind buzzers ringing, oohs and aahs from the players and an army of Playground Poker personnel making sure everything runs smoothly.

There is still plenty of time to get into the action, late registrations are possible until the beginning of level 7 at 9:15PM

In less than 45 minutes the 50/50 Bounty tournament will get underway. This freezout tournament has players starting with 20,000 chips. The blinds will start at 25/50 and be 20 minutes each level.

Players have until the beginning of level 7 to register, just about 9:15PM. The always popular 50/50 format allows every player to pocket a $100 Bounty chip for each elimination. The prize pool guarantee is set at $20,000 so we are expecting a big turnout here tonight. The Tournament Hall is buzzing will the action from the 5 tournaments currently running.
