Although action has been rather tame in the last few orbits, Shaan Siddiqui has quietly been chipping up, and now rivals Riyaz Abdulla for the chip lead.

Shaan won pots versus Mike Lafable and Riyaz to climb up to 950,000, and now sits second in chips, and is within 200,000 chips of table captain Riyaz.

Viken Artinian opened from early position to 50,000, and called a 3bet worth 115,000 from Riyaz in middle position. With only 97,000 behind, he moved all-in after the dealer rung out a King of Clubs 8 of Clubs 9 of Clubs flop, and Riyaz made the call.

Viken: King of Hearts Queen of Spades
Riyaz: Jack of Diamonds Jack of Clubs

The running 2 of Hearts and 3 of Spades brought no change, and Viken successfully doubled up to stay in the running for the $15,370 first prize, putting a small dent in the current chip leader.

Ali Jouni defended his big blind versus a button-open from Riyaz Abdulla, and both players went on to check the 7 of Spades Queen of Hearts 10 of Hearts flop. Ali lead out for 45,000 on the 6 of Clubs turn, and Riyaz obliged. When the turn brought the 8 of Clubs, Ali opted to check, leaving the door open for Riyaz who fired 70,000. Ali quickly check-raised all-in for just north of 300,000, and found the call from his opponent.

Ali: 10 of Spades 7 of Clubs
Riyaz: Ace of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds

Riyaz had the bigger of the two stacks, and added nearly 400,000 new chips to his stack with the rivered straight, propelling him over the 1-million mark and into the chip lead.

    7th place: Ali Jouni – $2,900.00

Nicolas: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs
Jeremie: 10 of Spades Jack of Diamonds

Jeremie didn’t find any help on the 4 of Clubs 9 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds King of Hearts board, and was sent to the cashiers in 8th place.

    9th place: Zheng Wei

Action blew up on the turn in a hand between Mike Lafable and Zheng Wei. With only a few big blinds in the pot and heaps behind, the two players found themselves with all their chips in the middle with one card to come.

Board (when players went all-in): 10 of Hearts Ace of Hearts 4 of Clubs Queen of Spades

Mike: Ace of Diamonds 4 of Spades
Zheng: King of Clubs Jack of Hearts

Mike and his two pair were trailing the made straight of Zheng, however the river 4 of Diamonds changed everything as he improved his hand to a full house, and scored his second elimination on this final table.

    10th place: Guillaume Laroche

On the fourth hand on this final table, action folded around to short-stacked Guillaume Laroche, who moved all-in for 65,000 from the small blind. Mike Lafable made a quick call from the big blinds, and the two were flipping for the pot.

Mike: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds
Guillaume: 7 of Clubs 7 of Hearts

It was all but over for Guillaume after Mike flopped a full house, as the Queen of Hearts Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs 9 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds board was not very kind to the pair of sevens.

    10th place: Guillaume Laroche – $1,260.00

(Yaseen) Siddiqui finishes just shy of the final table

Yaseen Siddiqui flopped an open-ended straight draw, and decided this was his time to try and run his rather short stack up. Viken was sitting at the other end of the table with Ace of Hearts Ace of Clubs and made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Yaseen tabled 7 of Spades 8 of Spades on a 6 of Diamonds 6 of Spades 9 of Clubs flop, and wasn’t able to improve enough for the win with the running 7 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts. He was eliminated one spot away from sharing a final table with his brother Shaan Siddiqui, who is amongst the leaders of the final 10 players.

    11th place: Yaseen Saddiqui – $1,260.00
