Event 6 reached the money-bubble when the 13 players decided to pay an extra spot, and guarantee themselves all a payout. They pulled money from the top 5 spots to award $330 to 13th place, and with that the tournament is now in the money!

Jason Mottershead fell in 15th place to the hands of Nicolas Aubut, who has just scored his third cash in as many days after finishing 1st in Event 3, and then placing 4th in Event 4 the following day. Next to go was Christopher King, who pushed his last 50,000 from late position with , and lost to the of Ruben Perceval in the big blind.

The tournament fell on break moments later, and during that time we did full counts of the remaining 13 players. Interestingly enough, it seems that most of the chips in play are found on Table 66, as not a single player on Table 62 is above average. With the recent elimination of Raphael Ohayon in 19th place, Event 6 has is now down to its final 2 tables of nine players. The money bubble is looming, as we are but 6 eliminations from a min-cash position.

Event 7 of the TonyBet Winter Festival has just kicked off, and this tournament follows a “Survivor” structure, meaning that once the field is reduced to the final 10%, the tournament ends and the remaining players take an even part of the prize pool each. Given the buy-in of $200 + $20, players can expect to take home just shy of $2,000 should they qualify as one of the Survivors.

Late registration will remain open through until the end of the first break, giving players until 9pm to register. So far 43 players have already taken their seats in these first few minutes of the event.

The $330 Deepstack tournament that started today at 11am is now down to 35 players remaining – since the tournament is a 9-handed affair, this means there are just 4 tables left.

On the leaderboard, Roger Lamia is still leading the way but his table-mate Jeff Rosenblatt has almost caught up – and these two players are a good distance in front of the rest of the current chip leaders. It will be interesting to see how this dynamic – the two chip leaders on the same table – plays out as the tournament enters its later phases.
