Diana Shamshoum was almost eliminated in the first few minutes of the day, but managed to stage a recovery after being reduced to just 3 big blinds. She ran her stack back up over 12 big blinds before 3betting all-in from the small blind following a button-open by Todd Pierce. Todd made the call, and the two were off to the races.

Shaan Siddiqui just took a large chunk of Daniel Kwon’s stack, as his

in an all-in preflop situation.
Shaan knew he was in big trouble once cards were tabled, however he managed to flop a set on the
board to double his 193,000 stack up to almost chip lead, leaving Daniel with under 60,000 behind.
A few hands later he was eliminated by Riyaz Abdulla, ending his run in 14th place.

Nicolas Aubut has just secured himself his 4th cash of this TonyBet Winter Festival, as he eliminated Jean-Philippe Piquette in 15th to bring Event 10 into the money.
JPP moved in for his last 69,000 from early position, and Nicolas isolated him by moving in over the top next to act. The rest of the table mucked their hands, and the two tabled their cards.

Husband and wife George and Diana, who are local regulars with a history of successful deep runs in and out of Playground Poker Club, found themselves all-in and at risk at the same time here in Event 10, but on different tables. Interestingly enough, they were in the same type of situation, as both of them had a small pair versus two over cards.
Diana was able to flop a set with her
and vanquish the
of opponent Yaseen Siddiqui for the double-up, however George suffered a different fate, as his
fell second best to Ali Jouni’s
, who flopped the nut flush and held on for the win.
With George’s elimination in 16th place, the tournament is now being played hand-for-hand on the money bubble.

The final day of the Main Event of the TonyBet Winter Festival will begin at 12pm on February 10th when the final 6 players in the field will return to the felts to compete for some truly serious prize money.
There are two front-runners at this late stage in the tournament, chip leader Jiachen Gong and Jessie Wheatley, with 4.555M and 4.045M in chips respectively. Both players start with double the stack of any of the bottom 4 players left in the field, but among those players are some very talented and experienced players in their own right.
Will Molson needs no introduction to poker fans in Quebec – his exploits at the PCA over the years are simply the stuff of legend. Danny Kalpakis is another experienced player, and was the subject of a documentary about the game called simply “Grinders” which came out a couple of years ago. Maxime Hebert doesn’t have a gaudy poker resume, but he is instantly recognized by many players here at Playground because he has been doing well in tournaments here for some time. Grant Pazarka seems to be the wild card of the bunch, but his play – and his banter – today mark him as a player that can do some damage.
So there’s still a lot of poker to be played before a champion is crowned tomorrow. They’re playing for a minimum of $19,600.00 up to a massive $100,000.00 prize for first place. The winner of the event will also win a very handsome Champion’s belt, courtesy of TonyBet.
Good luck to all 6 players tomorrow!

Day 2 of the $500 + $50 is still in its first level of play, but we have already seen 3 quick eliminations, bringing the field down to just 2 final tables. This means we are now but 4 eliminations from players being guaranteed a payout, as 14 are schedule to collect a prize in this event.
Levi Stevens, who came in as one of the shorter stacks, was the first to go, as his
failed to improve against the

Play tonight was scheduled for 7 levels or to play down until 6 players remained, and the level that began after the last break was that 7th level of the day – so either way, by the end of the hour play was set to be suspended for the day. Things in the tournament had slowed down some after the insanity of the hour previous, and eventually Christopher Hudson – who had successfully navigated clear of too much harm previously on the day, found himself short – and then all in. He lost the hand, and the field is reduced to 6 players.
There is no seating redraw for Day 4 – so the final 6 players will return and take the same respective places around the table. Play resumes at 12pm tomorrow!
7th place: Christopher Hudson, $16,400.00

The second new tournaments starting tonight is a $300 + $30 Pot Limit Omaha Single Rebuy event that isn’t likely to attract a huge field – but the field will be full of very strong and avid PLO players!
Good luck to everyone tonight!
