One of the interesting parts of running a poker tournament on a Sunday during the NFL season is TV situation – we have TVs all around the room and we’re doing our best to balance everyone’s requests and get as many games as possible on for the players!

Sunday is also the day for online majors, and there are a few players around the room also playing on their laptops or iPads, giving a new definition to multi-tabling. As we mentioned earlier, the WiFi has been upgraded so we don’t anticipate any problems for online players. Players should be aware, though, that standard rules against being active on electronic devices with cards in front of you apply even on Sundays.

  • Day 1c of the PartyPoker WPT Montreal Main Event is underway, and the first level of play has already passed us. Here are a few photos taken during this first hour of the day:

    Only 10 minutes to go!

The PartyPoker WPT Main Event continues today at Playground Poker Club, with Day 1c set to start in around 10 minutes. This is the last of the Day 1s, and therefore the last chance for players to qualify for Day 2, which will be played tomorrow at noon. So far there are 224 entries today, but registration will be open for the first 6 one hour levels plus the dinner break, which will give the players until around 7:30pm to enter. The total entries for Day 1a and 1b combined is of 523, and we’re expecting at least another 300 or more to play today.

From what we’ve gathered, there are around 60-70 satellite tickets that haven’t been used yet in the first two days, and therefore will be used today. That’s nearly half of our satellite winners!

We would also like to make a note than in the past week or so, we have done some major upgrades to our WiFi,  and can now hold thousands of simultaneous users on a high-speed connection.

Good luck to all the players in today’s final Day 1 of the Main Event!
