  • Amir Babakhani fell rather short stacked in the last few levels, and on the first hand back from break, he moved his last 175K in with 5 of Hearts 5 of Clubs from early position. Rayan Chamas called from middle position, holding King of Hearts Jack of Diamonds, and everyone else folded.

Rayan spiked a king on the 8 of Spades King of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds 3 of Clubs board, and former WPT Canadian Spring Championship winner Amir Babakhani was sent to the cashiers to collect his $21,920 paycheck.

  • Big Blind: 16K
  • Ante: 2K
  • Chip Average: 1M
  • Remaining: 17
  • Entries: 578

  • Micah Johnson was just one card away from doubling up, but Rayan Chamas hit a 2-outer to eliminate him in 18th place. Rayan opened the action to 35K with his pair of 9 of Clubs 9 of Hearts, and was faced with a 3bet from Micah to 83K. Rayan moved all-in, and Micah made the quick call with Ace of Diamonds King of Clubs.

The board seemed good for Micah, until the river hit, and Rayan’s full house on the Jack of Spades Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs Queen of Hearts 9 of Diamonds board propelled him even more into the chip lead by adding Micah’s 410K stack to his own. Rayan now hold over 3.1M.

    18th place: Micah Johnson, $18,810

  • Laurence Grondin has had a rough Day 4, and saw her stack get grinded down from the 800K she started the day with. On her last hand, she took advantage of an unopened-pot to move her 281K stack into the middle from late position, but got a call from Robert Notkin who was in the big blind.

Laurence: Ace of Clubs 7 of Diamonds

Robert: Ace of Hearts Jack of Diamonds

Board: King of Clubs 5 of Diamonds 9 of Spades Queen of Diamonds King of Spades

There will be a seating redraw after the next elimination.

Alkamli, Stacey eliminated from feature table

  • Level: 21
  • Small Blind: 6K
  • Big Blind: 12K
  • Ante: 2K
  • Chip Average: 825.7K
  • Remaining: 21
  • Entries: 578

  • We’ve just lost two more players, both from the feature table.

In the first hand, Tamer Alkamli found himself in a great spot to double his short stack up, as his Queen of Clubs Queen of Diamonds were all-in and far ahead of the 9 of Clubs 9 of Spades of Ankush. However, the board of 10 of Spades 9 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs Ace of Clubs 4 of Hearts ran in favour of Ankush’s pair, and Tamer finished in 23rd place.

    23rd place: Tamer Alkamli, $14,740

In the very next hand, Spencer Stacey found his last 123K in the middle with Queen of Hearts Jack of Spades, and was facing the King of Spades 7 of Clubs of Antonio Esfandiari. The board was of no help to Spencer, showing 10 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts 5 of Spades 5 of Hearts 7 of Hearts, eliminating him in 22nd.

  • Big Blind: 12K
  • Ante: 2K
  • Chip Average: 693.2K
  • Remaining: 25
  • Entries: 578

  • Johnny Mazzaferro started the day as one of the shorter stacks in this Day 4, and certainly had the plan of trying to get his chips in sooner rather that later to try and climb the leaderboard. He picked up a good spot when he 3bet Francois Binette’s 25K open to 75K, and then called the 4bet shove, holding roughly 260K.

Johnny: Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds

Francois: 10 of Spades 10 of Diamonds

Unfortunately for Johnny, he couldn’t pick up a pair on a the 6 of Hearts Jack of Hearts 8 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts 10 of Hearts board, and finished in 26th place for $12,990.
