Tomorrow’s action will be presented online via cards-up live stream on an hour-long delay, so tune in at noon tomorrow for the live stream and follow the action all the way through the final table.

There was a seating draw at 10 players remaining, and because this is now the official final table there will NOT be an additional redraw, so players will return in the same positions on the table they have occupied for the past couple of levels.

    Antonio Esfandiari exits in 10th

Antonio was cruising for most of the day, always among the chip leaders and seemingly having little trouble navigating a tough field. When the 10 players came together on the unofficial final table, however, he went through a run that saw him move from among the leaders to a relatively short stack.

Just before the most recent break it looked like Antonio had found the solution – François Goulet was all-in with a short stack and James Armstrong had simply flat-called to Antonio’s right. Antonio then raised to isolate, James folded and the players turned over their cards.

François: 8 of Clubs 8 of Spades
Antonio: Ace of Spades King of Diamonds

The flop: 6 of Spades Ace of Clubs 7 of Clubs – so far, perfect for Antonio. The turn was a (relatively) safe 10 of Hearts but the river brought the 8 of Hearts. François more than doubled up and Antonio went down to about 14 BB.

On the first hand back from the break, Antonio got it in and it looked like he was going to get folds all around… but Robert Notkin called.

Antonio: King of Spades Queen of Spades
Robert: Ace of Hearts Queen of Hearts

The flop spelled disaster for Antonio: 7 of Clubs Ace of Clubs Ace of Spades, and then the turn and river 5 of Clubs 6 of Diamonds brought no help and Antonio was out of the Main Event.

    10th place: Antonio Esfandiari, $26,960.00

    Congratulations to our ten finalists!

Binette falls short of final table

  • Level: 24
  • Small Blind: 12K
  • Big Blind: 24K
  • Ante: 4K
  • Chip Average: 1.7M
  • Remaining: 10
  • Entries: 578

  • Francois Binette fell short stacked, and moved in his final 5 big blinds with Ace of Spades Jack of Hearts from early position. Antonio Esfandiari made the call from late position holding King of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds, and they ended up going to the flop heads-up.

Before the cards were out, Antonio apologized in advance for winning the hand, saying whenever he holds a live KQ vs an ace, he always wins. He even went on to say that it’s not a 60/40, but rather a 90/10, which made the table laugh a little.

Surely enough, the window card was a Queen of Spades, and that pair was enough to win him the hand on the 7 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs Queen of Spades 3 of Hearts 2 of Clubs board.

The tournament has now reached it’s final table of 10 players, and Day 4 will conclude with one more elimination.

    11th place: Francois Binette, $26,960

    Theodore Doukas out in 12th

  • Small Blind: 12K
  • Big Blind: 24K
  • Ante: 4K
  • Chip Average: 1.6M
  • Remaining: 11
  • Entries: 578

  • Theodore Doukas has been eliminated in 12th position after he got very short coming out of the last break. At the end he got it in from the small blind with just 253K left in his stack (just under 10 BB). James Armstrong tanked for a few minutes but eventually called.

Theodore: 10 of Clubs 3 of Diamonds
James: 9 of Diamonds King of Clubs

The flop was good for Theodore – 10 of Diamonds 8 of Hearts 6 of Hearts but the 7 of Spades gave James the straight and the 10 of Hearts on the river looked nice but had no value for Theodore and he hit the rail.
