Registration is now closed for Day 1b, and a total of 305 players have bought in to this second flight of the Main Event of the Playground Poker Montreal Festival. With yesterday’s 218 entries, the total for the Main Event is up to 523 entries!
Now that the players have taken a rest to fill their bellies with the provided buffet, we are back in action here in Day 1b. With only 3 hours left of play, we can expect to see a lot of movement amongst the stacks. Those who fail to qualify on to Day 2 will have a last chance to do so tomorrow, with Day 1c at 11:00am.

Players will have 45 minutes to relax, eat and prepare themselves for the final 4 levels of play for Day 1b. We have just entered level 6, which means that in a little less than 1-hour, registration for this Day 1b will close. Attendance has climbed up to 305 players, with still one more starting flight to go, as Day 1c is schedule at 11:00am tomorrow.

The clock has run out here in the 13th level of Day 1a, which means the players still in are now on break until Day 2, set on Monday September 1st, at 12:00pm. We’ve seen a lot of action happen today, as the field drop from the 218 players that started down to just 57, with an average stack of 114.7K. Many notables have hit the rail, such as Amir Babakhani, Chanracy Khun, Jonathan Duhamel, George Caragiorgas, Kevin Macdonald, Serge Cantin, Rayan Chamas, Samuel Chartier and Sylvain Siebert. Players still in include the likes of Jean-Philippe Piquette (92,600), Carla Sabini (144,800), and Josue Sauvageau (141,900), amongst others.
Player reported chip counts will be made available shortly. Just as a reminder, there are still two more flights for this Main Event of the Playground Poker Montreal Festival, with Day 1b on Saturday at 11:00am, and Day 1c on Sunday at 11:00am.
