Players are returning from their break after level 19. Tournament staff has now removed the blue T500 chips from play and, starting with this level, the blinds will now be 40 minutes long. There are just 124 players remaining.

At the last break the chip leader by quite a margin was Anesti Kocini, but he has already left the tournament with a min cash for his effort on the day.

The player who stacked most of his chips is Yannick Lamarre-Delooz – who happens to be sitting directly to the left of the chip leader to start the day, Michael Pulikunnel, who still has a pretty massive stack himself.

Players have continued to be eliminated at a very fast pace – so fast that the bubble came before many players could adjust to the changed situation. Tournament staff were just about to announce hand-for-hand play when three players were eliminated to burst the bubble in one swoop… and everyone still in the event is in the money!

Once the bubble was passed there was another quick batch of eliminations as the short stacks chose to take their min cash or double, and the tournament is down to 152 runners left.

During the break we got a handle on some of the huge and growing chip stacks that are out there, and found the following 4 clear chip leaders. Some of these started the day as leaders but others have grown their stack through play thus far in Day 2. Note these counts are approximate.

Behind these players there are at least a dozen more in the 280K to 330K range. These rankings are sure to change!

Play has begun in level 15, and as predicted the action has been quick to start the day. From the 335 who started today just 278 remain and already 7 tables have broken as tournament staff works hard to keep tables balanced.

The 335 players who qualified through the 4 Day 1s in Event 1 have taken their seats and cards are in the air! Play begins today in level 14 and blinds will remain at 30 minutes in length until the end of level 19, when they will extend to 40 minutes.

If past tournaments are any indication, the action will be very quick in the first level. At the same time, the bubble will start to approach quickly as players are eliminated, so play will adjust accordingly – all of it adding up to what should be a fantastic day.

Event 1 attracted 1,401 total entries over its four starting days. A total of 335 players have qualified for Day 2 and will start the day seated according to the following table.

For the record, of the 1.401 entries, 347 players played more than a single starting flight. Of that number, only 3 players qualified for Day 2 on two different starting days. In each of these 3 cases, the player’s smaller stack has been removed from the tournament.

The average stack size starting Day 2 is 83,300.
