Event #4 of the March Power Weekend is the $100 + $20 + $100 NL Hold’em 50/50 Bounty. This type of tournament is always a hit at Playground so it will be no surprise if the prize pool surpasses the $20,000.00 guarantee for this event. At the sound of the opening buzzer, there were already 78 players in their seats so it’s shaping up to be another huge turnout for this Power Weekend event.

It’s a familiar format; everyone will start the evening with a 20,000 chip starting stack and a $100.00 bounty chip. And those bounty chips are likely to be put to use sooner rather than later throughout this tournament’s 20-minute blind levels. To many players “bounty hunting” will be the name of the game tonight, in their efforts to secure some profit even if they fall short of the payouts. As veterans of this type of event have seen the bounty chips can be used to both entice and deter action, but it will be to the players to decide what suits them best; taking risks to capture bounty chips can also help players run up their stacks but playing tight is the way to go to exploit the risk-takers. Tonight we will see which strategy pays off.

The cards are in the air. Good luck to all!
