The heads up match was between chip leader Manfred Gunther and Patrick St-Onge. Manfred has been running extremely well and was on fire tonight. He’s been consistently among the chip leaders and has managed to stay pretty much ahead of every player on the final table. Patrick has had a roller coaster ride in this tournament but is a player not to be taken lightly on any given day.
The whole confrontation lasted only a few hands. By doubling up in the first hand, Patrick was now in a better position to do some damage. On the last hand, both players found themselves holding great hands.

Patrick:
Tabling his hand, Patrick stood up and said: “wow, I’m really behind now”. The flop came out and was nothing to write home about: . Obviously the idea of a split pot entered everyone’s mind but it wasn’t until the turn came out that Patrick sat back down, fully expecting the split pot.
A collective “wow” was expressed by everyone witnessing the hand when one of the few cards that could change everything came out . Now Manfred had 2 pairs and out kicked Patrick by a nose.
Both men shook hands with huge smiles, in tune with the mood of the whole tournament tonight.
