Sam Pouliot, who seemed to be involved in a lot of hands in the last leg of this tournament, made short work of eliminating Chris Arvanitis.

Four of the five players limped into the pot. The flop came out: 8 of Spades 6 of Spades 6 of Clubs and Chris shoved all-in, having hit top pair with King of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds. The only call came from Sam Pouliot, who called the 500K + bet with lightning speed and tabled King of Hearts 6 of Diamonds; he had hit big on the flop. Chris let out a deep sigh, and started getting up, as the last two community cards were revealed: Ace of Clubs, 3 of Diamonds . No help there. Pouliot’s trip sixes was enough to put an end to Chris’s tournament in 5th place.

All in all Chris said he was glad to have come back from an earlier hand, in which a mistake made by a fellow player had lead to the massive reduction of his stack.

This hand clearly established Pouliot as mega chip leader, with over 1.5 million in chips.

    5th place: Chris Arvanitis, $1,410
