At level 13, the tournament was put on hold to allow for hand per hand play until the bubble hit.

Denyse “Omaha Queen” Mingault took care of business rather quickly. After only 3 short hands in halted play, Denyse called a 53,000 preflop all-in from Marc-Antoine Lévesque.
Once the other tables had finished their hands, the dealer instructed the players to open their hands.

Denyse was faster and tabled her Ace of Hearts 10 of Hearts promptly. Marc-Antoine leaned back with a sigh and opened Ace of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds, knowing full well that he was in trouble.

The flop came out 6 of Diamonds Queen of Hearts 2 of Spades and aside from giving each player a backdoor flush draw, nothing much changed, if not that Marc-Antoine was starting to fidget uneasily in his seat.

The 4 of Clubs on the turn made everyone exclaim in awe: exactly what Marc-Antoine needed. He was clearly ready to win this hand with his pair of fours. That’s when a 10 of Clubs came out on the river to a collective sigh of relief from all the other players who had pooled around table #60 to witness the action. A pair of tens was enough for the lovely lady.

So Marc-Antoine busted in 22nd position (bubble) and Denyse Mignault added 53,000 chips to her already sizeable stack. Now play resumes until the end. A full redraw will be made when the number of players reaches 10, for the final table.

The chips are flying, the stacks are growing and the action is in full force.

We had a chance to get chip counts during the break between levels 14 and 15. Ritchie Haddad has managed to remain chip leader with 218,000 chips. Camille Jr. Lefebvre Pelletier is hot on his trail with 217,500 chips, and Yannick Bourque Patry rounds off the leaderboard with 189,500 chips.

With the bar set at 100K, we took advantage of the short break between levels 10 and 11 to find our leaderboard players.

Ritchie Haddad is in the number one spot with 158,200 chips. Ritchie was a bit camera shy when we approached him but he was a good sport and let us take a shot of his stack. Making a second appearance on the leaderboard is Ghislain Pigeon with 111,000.

As play resumes with level 11, there are now 62 players left. We’ll keep an eye out on the leaders and see if they manage to stay on top.
