We’ve just reached heads-up play in The Wild $150, as Isham Yamani was eliminated in 3rd place. With only 3,600,000 to his name, Isham open-shoved from the small blind, and was quickly called by Philippe Lauzon.

Isham: Queen of Hearts Jack of Spades

Philippe: Ace of Hearts 10 of Hearts

They both paired the Jack of Hearts Ace of Clubs 3 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds King of Clubs board, however Philippe held the stronger pair to eliminate Isham.

    Michailidis places 4th

We just witnessed a cooler amongst the final four players of The Wild $150, as Rick Shamshoum opened from utg for 575,000, and snap called the all-in of Said Michailidis, which was worth almost 3,000,000.

Rick: Ace of Hearts King of Clubs

Said: King of Hearts King of Spades

The window card was just what Rick ordered, as he paired his ace on the Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs 3 of Spades 4 of Spades 2 of Diamonds board to bring us down to three-handed action.

    4th place: Said Michailidis – $10,960

Isham Yamani opened from the button to 550,000, and went into the tank for a few minutes when Philippe Lauzon moved in from the small blind for a total of 1,950,000. He eventually made the call, but was in rough shape.

Isham: Jack of Spades 9 of Spades

Philippe: Queen of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds

The board ( 3 of Clubs 10 of Clubs 2 of Hearts 5 of Hearts Ace of Hearts ) changed nothing, and Philippe doubled to just over 4 million, while Isham dropped to around 3.5 million.

    Campeau’s queens run into kings

Said Michailidis opened the action to 375,000 from early position, to which Rick Shamshoum replied with a raise to 950,000. Benoit Campeau announced all-in from the big blind for around 3,600,000, and found a call only from Rick.

Benoit: Queen of Hearts Queen of Clubs

Rick: King of Hearts King of Spades

The board stayed clean for Rick, who moved up to just shy of 10,000,000 with that hand, as Benoit was sent to the cashiers to collect his cash prize.

    7th place: Benoit Campeau – $4,270

We’ve reached the final in the opening event of the Playground Poker Spring Classic!

There are a few interesting stories leading up to this final table. For starters, Christien Beaudoin is riding what has been jokingly referred to as a “fairytale story”, as he was crippled early in the night to just one chip (T25,000), and has managed to rebuild his stack to make his way to the final table. Although he is on the short end of the leaderboard, he’s proven he knows how to play short-stacked poker.

Levi Stevens is in a similar boat, as at some point before the money-bubble in Day 2 he was crippled nearly to elimination. He has seen his stack drop to below the 2BB mark today as well, but has chipped up to give him a little room to manoeuvre.

Isham Yamani is on his second life-time final table in Playground Poker Club’s “The Wild $150”, and has also placed 20th in another one.

    Final Table

    Seat 1. Levi Stevens
    Seat 2. Christien Beaudoin
    Seat 3. Stephane Chartrand
    Seat 4. Said Michailidis
    Seat 5. Rick Shamshoum
    Seat 6. Pierre-Olivier Sauve
    Seat 7. Stephane Sevigny
    Seat 8. Benoit Campeau
    Seat 9. Isham Yamani
    Seat 10. Philippe Lauzon
