    Day 3 is a wrap!

    Pascal Lefrancois

We’ve just completed the last level of Day 3, and the 15 remaining players are currently bagging their chips onto Day 4, scheduled tomorrow at 12pm. Samuel Besrat Tsehai is coming back as the tournament chip leader, as he bagged 1,520,000 in chips. Not far behind are Sheraz Nasir (1,207,000) and Trevor Delaney (1,141,000).

The tournament will play down until we have our WPT Canadian Spring Championship final table of 6 players during Day 4, and those 6 will return for the conclusion on Day 5.

In a few moments we will publish the full list of player-reported chip counts, as well as the new seating assignment for Day 4.

Time was winding down on the clock in this 4th level played today and the tournament director has announced that both tables are to play 4 more hands today.

At the end of 4 hands the players will bag up their chips to return to play tomorrow. As usual, there will be a full seating redraw to start the day tomorrow, and then (again, as usual) another redraw when they reach the last table (at 10 players remaining).

    Senthuran loses a big one

    Senthuran Vijayaratnam

    Senthuran Vijayaratnam

Senthuran Vijayaratnam raised from utg to 36K, and Gary Lucci called as did Jonathan Karamalikis in the bb. The flop was dealt:

7 of Diamonds King of Diamonds 5 of Hearts.

Jonathan was first to act and he checked. Senthuran then bet 67K and Gary raised all in. Jonathan quickly folded and Senthuran called

Senthuran: Ace of Hearts Ace of Diamonds
Gary: 8 of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds

Senthuran was ahead, but Gary had hit the flop very solidly and had two huge draws (2 ways to make a straight plus the flush draw).

The turn 7 of Spades was safe enough, but the 9 of Spades on the river gave Gary the straight and the double up.

Molson runs into aces, falls in 16th

Will Molson was under 10BB when he was dealt Ace of Hearts 10 of Diamonds in middle position. He decided to move in with the hand, but he was quickly followed by an all-in from John Krpan, one seat to his left. Everyone else got out of the way, and Will saw he was in big trouble once the hands were tabled, as he was up against the Ace of Spades Ace of Clubs of John.

The board ( 8 of Diamonds 9 of Clubs 5 of Spades 2 of Spades 4 of Clubs ) didn’t bring any help to Will, who was eliminated in 16th place.

    16th place: Will Molson – $12,090

Johnathan opened from middle position, and was 3bet to 84,000 by Gary Lucci in the small blind. He opted for the 4bet all-in for 414,000, forcing Gary into the tank. After a moment, the call was made, and the hands were tabled.

Johnathan: Ace of Spades King of Clubs

Gary: Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs

Johnathan had a strong flop, and rivered the nuts as the board read Jack of Spades 6 of Spades King of Spades Queen of Diamonds 8 of Spades, leaving Gary with around 400,000 behind.

Former chipleader and 7-time WSOP-Ring winner Ari Engel was just knocked out of the WPT Canadian Spring Championship in 17th place by Samuel Bisrat Tsehai.

Ari raised from the cutoff to 36,000, and was face with a 3bet to 101,000 from Samuel in the small blind. Ari replied with a 4bet to 310,000, and the made the call for the rest of his chips after Samuel 5bet shoved.

Ari: Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts

Samuel: Ace of Diamonds King of Clubs

Ari couldn’t catch up on the 5 of Hearts 2 of Clubs Ace of Clubs 4 of Spades Queen of Diamonds board, ending his run in 17th place.

Yves Loiselle moved all-in for 103,000 from early position, and Senthuran Vijayaratnam made the call from middle position. Jeff Gross, next to act, reraised all-in for a total of 175,000, and play folded around back to Senthuran, who called the difference.

Yves: Ace of Clubs Queen of Spades

Senthuran: Ace of Spades King of Clubs

Jeff: King of Spades King of Diamonds

Yves was chanting for a queen or an ace after the dealer brought a flop of 10 of Spades Queen of Hearts 2 of Hearts, but the running cards brought two bricks, a 3 of Diamonds and a 9 of Hearts, eliminating Yves in 18th place. Jeff climbed to over 475,000 after the hand, bringing him back in contention in this WPT Canadian Spring Championship.

As soon as play resumed after the recent break Edmund John Campion was all in for his last 215K in chips. Will Molson went all in over to isolate, which was successful, and the players were heads up.

Edmund: King of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds
Will: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Hearts

Unfortunately for Will, the board was all Edmund’s: 6 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds 6 of Clubs 7 of Diamonds 4 of Spades for the flush and the double up.
