    Edmund Campion out 15th

Edmund Campion is the first player to be eliminated in Day 4. He had just lost a good portion of his stack to Jeff Gross when he was dealt another hand upon which he could gamble his last 168K. Action folded around to Samuel Bisrat Tsehai, who didn’t seem happy about the situation but said, “I can’t really fold here” and threw in a chip.

Edmund: Ace of Diamonds Jack of Clubs
Samuel: Jack of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Edmund was a big favourite to win the hand, and the flop Jack of Spades 3 of Clubs 4 of Hearts was good for him. The 10 of Hearts on the turn, however, was the worst card and the 2 of Spades on the river didn’t put him back in the lead.

15th place: Edmund John Campion, $14,130.00

    Gross doubles up

Jeff Gross was down to 166,000 when he moved in from middle position. Edmund Campion went all-in over the top from the button, holding a stack of 377,000, and the two found themselves heads-up.

Jeff: King of Clubs 9 of Clubs

Edmund: Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades

Jeff spiked two-pairs on the flop, and went on to double up on the 6 of Spades King of Diamonds 9 of Spades 2 of Hearts 5 of Hearts board.

Eric raised to 48K from tug and Jonathan Karamalikis raised to 115K from the cutoff. Action folded around to Eric and he made the call.

The flop fell 10 of Clubs Ace of Clubs 8 of Clubs. Both players checked and the turn was dealt: Queen of Hearts. This prompted Eric to bet 100K and Jon tanked but eventually flat called. The river was the 10 of Diamonds, and again Eric led out with a bet of 225K. This time Jonathan found a fold, and Eric won the pot.

    Senthuran Vijayaratnam

We arrived at table 36 with a sizeable pot in the middle and the flop and turn already dealt: Jack of Spades Jack of Diamonds King of Diamonds 2 of Spades. It was a three-way pot at this point, and first to act Senthuran (who had been the bb in the hand) checked. Eric Afriat bet 50K and John Krpan (button) folded. Senthuran made the call and the river was dealt: King of Spades.

Senthuran checked again and Eric led out for 125K – but found a snap call from Senturan who turned over the flush (Ace of Spades 9 of Spades). Eric mucked and Senthuran added a nice sum to his stack.

    Samuel Bisrat Tsehai

Play has resumed in level 23 for the 15 players left in the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship. Interestingly enough, one player is running late – chip leader Sam Tsehai hasn’t yet arrived at the table. Of course he’ll be blinded out as play continues.

Update: Sam has now arrived at the table and only missed 3 or 4 hands of play!

WPT Canadian Spring Champions resumes with Day 4

    Samuel Bisrat Tsehai

Day 4 is just about set here for the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship at Playground Poker Club, and 15 players are back and ready to win! Play will go on until we’ve reached our final table of 6 players, with the conclusion of the Event schedule tomorrow at 12pm.

Samuel Bisrat Tsehai is returning as the chip leader, as he bagged a total of 1,520,000 chips last night. Still in the mix are WPT Champions Club member Eric Afriat (765,000), WSOP-Bracelet winner and WPT Montreal 2012 runner-up Pascal Lefrancois (538,000) and Playground Players Club member Jeff Gross (299,000), who finished 3rd in the same WPT Montreal 2012. However every player left in the field has proven to have a serious set of skills, and this tournament is really anyones game at the moment.

The cards will be in the air at 12pm sharp, and we will be bringing you up to date coverage throughout the day.

Good luck to the remaining players!

    Jeff Gross

Day 4 of @WPT @PlaygroundPoker for the #WPTMontreal 15 players remain. Positive energy appreciated!! 🙂

45 players started play on Day 3 in level 22 and play continued through 4 90 minute levels. The bubble (45 places pay in the event) was reached at the end of play on Day 2, so all 45 players who returned for Day 3 were in the money.

Going into Day 4 there are just 15 players remaining, and there was a redraw to seat players for Day 4 and there will be another redraw at 10 players, which is when the tournament is reduced to a single table. Play will continue on Day 4 until 6 players remain.

Play resumes at 12pm tomorrow, Tuesday May 5th.
