    Dunn runs into aces

    Robert Logan Dunn

Jason Conforti opened from under the gun, and was called by Ratharam on the button, and Robert Logan Dunn in the big blind. Both Logan and Jason checked the 6 of Spades 9 of Diamonds Queen of Spades flop, and Ratharam took the lead by betting 36,000. Logan came over the top, pushing his 166,000 stack into the middle, and was quickly called by Ratharam once Jason let go of his cards.

Logan: Queen of Diamonds 10 of Spades

Ratharam: Ace of Diamonds Ace of Spades

Logan picked up a bunch of outs when the 8 of Diamonds peeled on the turn, but the river 9 of Clubs sealed the win for Ratharam, eliminating Logan in the process.

    5th place: Robert Logan Dunn – $9,275

Sitting under the gun, Danny Boyaci limped for 8,000, and then moved all-in for just under 200,000 after an open to 25,000 from Ratharam, and a flat call by Andrew. Ratharam isolated, and they found themselves heads-up.

Danny: 4 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds

Ratharam: Ace of Hearts King of Diamonds

Ratharam found what he was looking for on the Ace of Clubs 6 of Clubs 6 of Hearts King of Clubs 7 of Spades board to bring this field down to 5 players.

    Ko Maddock finishes in 6th

    Ko Maddock

Ko Maddock was crippled by Robert Logan Dunn two hands ago, as Logan open-shove with 95,000 from under the gun, and Ko reshoved from the button.

Logan: King of Clubs Queen of Diamonds

Ko: 5 of Hearts 5 of Clubs

Community cards: King of Hearts 8 of Clubs 2 of Spades 9 of Clubs Ace of Clubs

With only 31,000 behind, Ko was all-in on the next hand, and both blinds called him (Ratharam and Andrew). Andrew put in a small bet on the 5 of Hearts Jack of Spades 5 of Clubs flop, and then the two live players both checked the 9 of Diamonds turn and 3 of Spades river. Ko tabled King of Clubs 4 of Hearts, but lost to the Queen of Clubs Jack of Diamonds of Andrew.

    7th place: Ko Maddock – $6,185

It took only two hands for James Gall to go from average stack to broke here on this final table of the Second Chance.

In the first hand, James opened from to 18,000 from the hijack position, and found calls from Ratharam Sivagnanam on the button and Andrew Hinrichsen in the small blind. He bet 32,000 on the 9 of Hearts Jack of Spades King of Clubs board, and was flat called only by Ratharam. On the 3 of Spades turn, he fired another 65,000, again called by Ratharam. On the 3 of Clubs river, he check-called a bet of 90,000, only to see his King of Hearts Jack of Hearts was second best to Ratharam’s Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds.

On the very next hand, Ko Maddock moved all-in from middle position, and James committed the remainder of his chips, roughly 80,000.

Ko: 9 of Clubs 9 of Hearts

James: Ace of Diamonds Jack of Clubs

Ko made quads on the 5 of Hearts 9 of Spades King of Clubs Ace of Hearts 9 of Diamonds board to knock James out in 8th place. Ko, who entered the final table with a very short stack, has chipped up to nearly 200,000.

    8th place: James Gall – $4,945

With under 10BB in front of him, Behram Antia 3bet his last chips from the button following an open from James Gall, who made the call.

Behram: King of Spades Jack of Hearts

James: Ace of Hearts Jack of Spades

James’ ace-high was good on the 4 of Spades 3 of Clubs 6 of Spades 6 of Diamonds 9 of Hearts board to send Behram packing.

    9th place: Behram Antia – $3,710

Danny Boyaci has been working with a relatively small stack but the tides have changed for him as he has doubled through Ratharam Sivagnanam with 9 players remaining.

We caught up with the hand on the turn. The board read Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds 6 of Hearts 2 of Clubs when Danny opened with a 30K bet. Ratharam thought about it for a minute or so and then decided to go all in, and Danny quickly called.

Danny Ace of Diamonds 6 of Spades
Ratharam: 7 of Clubs 9 of Clubs

Danny’s two pairs were well in the lead, and the 5 of Hearts wasn’t the club that Ratharam need to take down the pot,

Steven Buckner opened to 13,000 from under the gun, and Ko Maddock pushed all-in next to act. It folded around to Jason Conforti in the big blind, who called the 48,000 wager. Steven also called, and the two live players checked it down to the river.

With the board showing 7 of Hearts Ace of Spades 9 of Diamonds King of Clubs 5 of Diamonds, Ko and Jason chopped the pot, as they showed Ace of Diamonds Jack of Clubs and Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts respectively, while Steven threw his King of Spades 10 of Diamonds into the muck.

The final table had been running for about 4 orbits but although some chips were moving around, the pace was greatly slowed due to the presence of one player, Dave Graham, who had an extremely short stack. Since the first orbit at the final table he was playing between 2 and 4 big blinds.

Dave Graham has now been eliminated in 10th place and the rest of the players are now in the money. Min-cash in this event is $3,710 while the top prize is 10x that much ($37,105) so there’s still a LOT to play for. Nevertheless, the pace of the game should increase somewhat in the next orbit or so.
