The players still in this afternoon’s fifth of 6 starting flights in The $250 Frenzy have now entered the final level of the day, following which the surviving players will bag their chips to return for Day 2, tomorrow at 7pm. We’ll have a full list of “survivors” and the stacks they have qualified with a few minutes after play has concluded.
New leaders in Day 1E
We have a new leaderboard for today’s starting flight in Event 3, The $250 Frenzy, although clearly there’s still a long way to go because only three players have managed to build up really large stacks – a situation that will certainly change as we get closer to the end of Day 1E.
- Randy Khalil – 158K
- Ian Middel – 112K
- Gary Lucci – 100K
After these three players there are quite a few players in the 70K – 90K range.
Some photos from level 8
Players are starting to build some pretty impressive stacks as this starting flight has progressed through almost 60% of the day. Although players know they can come back for Day 1F if they don’t qualify today, obviously most of the players would prefer to qualify right away.

Four “rabbits” leading out the field
Day 1E players are taking their first break of the day and we found just four players in the field who have managed to take an early lead, building up stacks of over 50K. Play will continue until the end of level 14 in this (and each) starting flight, but still – if having chips is an advantage (it is), these players have an early leg up on the rest of the field.
Note also that the final tally of entrants in this flight is 224, making this the strongest starting flight yet!
- Scott Plummer – 57K
- Maurice Simard – 56K
- Terence Lai – 55K
- Daniel Mackay – 52K
The early photos
Day 1E of The $250 Frenzy has just entered the third level of the day and there are 176 players registered so far with just over an hour of late registration remaining. Here are some photos of the early action today.

Welcome to Day 1E!
The $250 Frenzy has begun it’s final day of qualifying flights, and as usual the first one kicked off at 11am and the 6th and final flight will get underway tonight at 7:30pm. The field is about 5 minutes into this 5th starting day with 120 players seated with many more sure to join the action.
Late registration is available for 4 levels plus the first break this afternoon, which means that players can join with a full stack any time until 1:15pm. The blinds in level 5 are just 150/300/a50 and the chip average will likely be no more than 22.5K (approx), so there’s very little disadvantage to late registering for the event.
Good luck to everyone playing today!
Event 3 Day 1D – final chip counts
Here are the final chip counts for Day 1D of The $250 Frenzy, Event 3 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic 2015 presented by partypoker.net. There were a total of 204 entrants in this starting flight of Event 3. 39 of these players have qualified for Day 2, which will start on Monday, April 27th at 7pm.
Any player may play in one or more additional starting flights. In the event that a player qualifies in two or more Day 1s, only their largest stack will move forward to Day 2. We will provide detailed records of any such activity when the official seating draw for Day 2 is released.
Note that these are unverified player-counted chip counts. All chips have been sealed in bags until they return to play on Day 2.

Level 8 update
We’re over the hump here in Day 1D of The $250 Frenzy, as the tournament has reached the mid-way point of level 8. The field has been reduced to it’s final 12 tables for the flight, and we are starting to see some towers of chips forming in front of certain players. There will be a break following level 9, during which we will bring an update on the chip leaders.
