Playground Poker Spring Classic 2015

Play in the second starting flight of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship has just resumed following the 45-minute dinner break, during which players enjoyed hot and cold buffet dishes and took a few minutes to unwind before the last 4 levels tonight.

There are just 15 minutes remaining in level 6, and following this level the players will be on a 45-minute dinner break. There is a tasty buffet provided for all players, and during the break, there’s something very special going to be happening over the the partypoker.net Player’s Lounge… think “Rock’em Sock’em” as opposed to the “Hold’em” everyone is playing all day!

After the dinner break we’ll announce the winner of the partypoker-branded Monster DNA headphones, and that will also signal the end of late registration in the event.

Players are just back from their second break of the day, and so far no one has really strapped on the turbo-booster and taken a big lead in this starting flight. There are 3 players who have passed the 80K threshold, and we’ll see if there are any big movers between now and the dinner break in just under 2 hours.

The dealers have taken their places and the players are starting to arrive in the Tournament Hall for Day 1b of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship. This is the second of two starting flights in this WPT Tour event, the kickoff event for Season XIV on the World Poker Tour.

As usual, as this is the final starting day, participation should be very strong today. Players who busted yesterday have the opportunity to re-enter the tournament in Day 1b. In addition, most satellite winners choose to play in the final starting day, which adds up to what is sure to be an interesting and action-packed day of poker.

There were 136 entries in yesterday’s Day 1a, and of that number just 50 players have qualified for Day 2, tomorrow. The chip leader yesterday was Mike Leah, who bagged up over 265K in chips. Also in the top 5 were Pascal Lefrancois, who has had some big scores in the past here at Playground Poker Club, and Ratharam Sivagnanam (aka WrathofRam), who was the runner up in last fall’s WPT Montreal.
