Vlad Faubert was also short-stacked coming into the day, and he got it in holding Ace of Spades 2 of Spades but was instantly called by Gregory Katayama holding 8 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds.

The board ran out 6 of Hearts 10 of Hearts 9 of Clubs 4 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds to let Gregory fade Vlad’s outs and stack the chips.

The redraw at 27 players is happening now – we’ll have an updated seating chart shortly.

Tournament staff gave the command to the dealers to “Shuffle up and deal” and almost immediately Patrick Braga was eliminated from the event. He arrived to Day 2 with the 2nd shortest stack in the tournament and was unable to make the quick double up he needed to make a run in the event.

There will be a seating redraw following the next elimination.

There are 29 players left in the $1000 + $100 WPT Warm-up, which is Event 7 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net. The players are starting to arrive in the Tournament Hall to play down to the Champion, and in about 10 minutes the tournament will resume.

It’s sure to start with a bang, because right off the bat today the players are hard up against the money bubble. 24 places will pay in this event, so just 5 eliminations will get us to the bubble. In addition, there’s a redraw scheduled for 27 players remaining (when players will fill 3 9-handed tables), so a player not comfortable with his Day 2 draw can – in theory – wait for a better result after just 2 eliminations!

The event still has some international stars of the game participating – in particular Jonathan Duhamel and Griffin Benger, both of whom start the day with relatively healthy stacks. In addition to them there are some players who have had a lot of past success here at Playground Poker Club over the years (Ami Alibay, Andrew Graham). But the field is strong from top to bottom – it’s completely reasonable to think that any one of the remaining 29 players could emerge as the Champion!

    Good luck to all!

    Event 9 – Results & Payouts

    2015/04/30 - 11:21 by

Event 9 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net was a $300 + $30 Mixed PL Hold’em & PL Omaha event that was held on Wednesday April 29th, 8:00pm. There were a total of 45 players in the event, which generated a prize pool of $13,095.00. This was distributed according to the following table.

Note there was a player deal reached with 3 players remaining. They chose to reserve $295 and the Champion’s bracelet for the winner and distribute the rest of the prize pool according to chip counts at the time. This deal is reflected in the final payout table.

    Event 9 Champion: Arthur Walker!

    Event 9 Champion: Arthur Walker!

    Event 9 Champion: Arthur Walker

After Jordan Fafard Miraglia was eliminated in 4th place, the three remaining players decided to make a deal. Leaving the required $300 up top for the eventual winner, as well as a Playground Poker Spring Classic bracelet, the players took the following portion of the prizepool each, based on their chip counts:

    • Arthur Walker – $3,900
    • Joey Silver – $3,000
    • Desi Miller- $3,000

On the first hand after the deal, Arthur ( Ace of Hearts Jack of Diamonds ) eliminated Joey ( Queen of Diamonds Queen of Hearts ) by spiking an ace on the Ace of Diamonds 9 of Clubs 2 of Clubs 5 of Diamonds King of Diamonds board. Only two hands later, it was Desi who was all-in and at risk, and his King of Spades 9 of Clubs failed to improve versus Arthurs’ 10 of Hearts 10 of Spades, crowning Arthur as our Event 9 champion!

    Congratulations!
