Update and photos
The Survivor event has just passed it’s first break, which means late registration is now closed. The total amount of players present for this 8th event of the Playground Poker Spring Classic is 92, which means that we will play down until we have 9 survivors left! The player who bubbles this will earn a little cash on the side as well. Prize pool information will be posted shortly.

Stacked tables
The WPT Warm-up is down to 63 players as the tournament rolls right along with an average stack nearing 50 big blinds and a regular procession of players to the rail. We’ll be back with a leaderboard update during the next break, scheduled for the end of this level (in 20 minutes), but a quick overview of the tables in play shows two tables in particular – table 61 and table 66 – that have a LOT of chips on them, and action to match.
A few of the players eliminated in the past hour or so: Alexandre Lavigne, early chip leader Jeff Rosenblatt, and Eric Afriat.
Still in: Griffin Benger, Jonathan Duhamel, Matt Salsberg, Ari Engel, Kane Kalas, Ami Alibay, Chanracy Khun.

Late registration open until 9:55pm
Event 9 has just started, and although attendance is a little low at the moment, we are expecting many more to show during the late registration period, which will remain open until roughly 9:55pm. At the moment, only 16 players have taken their seats, making this a great opportunity to try and score a Playground Poker Spring Classic bracelet!
Don’t miss your chance! Come on down to Playground Poker club, Canada’s premiere poker destination!
Some Pot Limit Action Tonight!
In a few moments, players will be taking their seats to participate in Event 9 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic. This is a new formula for us here at Playground, as it is a mixed tournament, where rounds will alternate between Pot Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha. Players are familiar with PLO, however PLHE is not something that everyone has had the chance to experiment with. It should be interesting to see the dynamics of the action on the tables!
The cards will be in the air at 8pm sharp, and late registration will remain open through the first 5 levels and the first break, or roughly 9:55pm. Action will begin with Pot Limit Hold’em, and then switch at every level. Given the pot limit formula, there will be no antes throughout this event.
See you on the felts!
Be a Survivor!
Event 8 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net starts at 7:30 tonight and while it’s a relatively new format in Playground-hosted events, it has proven to be very popular with players of all backgrounds and experience levels.
The tournament is an NL Hold’em Survivor event with a $300 + $30 buy-in. “Survivor” means that the tournament plays out just like any other tournament – but when the field reaches 10% of the starting number of players it stops and everyone left in the event takes home an even share of the prize pool.
In a way, it’s like a Satellite tournament, except that the prizes are in cash!
The tournament gets underway in just about 30 minutes and late registration is available for 4 levels plus the break.
Good luck!
