Chip leaders at the first break
The first break of Day 1F in the $250 Frenzy has just concluded, and during the break we found several players who have managed to build up significant stacks considering how early it is in tonight’s flight.
- Dominique Dion – 65K
- Levi Stevens – 61K
- Luigi Fantigrossi – 59K
- Denis Quirion – 57K
- Siamak Soleimanian – 57K
By the way, registration has now closed on the final starting day of the event, and there are a total of 226 entries in Day 1F. That adds up to 1,076 entries total in the event – we’ll confirm the number and release the prize pool a bit later tonight.
Still 45 minutes left to register!
What better way to celebrate a hockey victory than coming out to play in The $250 Frenzy? Players can register in the event until 9:45 and start the tournament with a full 20K stack while blinds are just 100/200/a25 (it moves to 150/300/a50 after the break). There are already 213 players at the tables tonight, and every additional player just grows the prize pool that much more!
Photos during the game
Here are some photos from the early action in Day 1F of the $250 Frenzy. If some of the poses in these shots seem a little odd, that’s because players are keeping up with the game in front of them – but also the game on TV. There are a lot of craned necks in the Tournament Hall!

Cards are in the air for flight 6/6
Since Friday, players have been joining us at Playground Poker Club for starting flights in Event 3, The $250 Frenzy, which is a $225 + $25 NL Hold’em Re-entry tournament in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net.
Like clockwork, there have been two flights a day, at 11am and 7:30pm, and now on this Sunday night we’ve arrived at the final opportunity for players to qualify for Day 2 in the event – Day 1F.
As has been the case for each starting day, players will play through 14 30-minute levels today. Everyone starts with 20,000 in tournament chips and the starting blinds will be 50/100/a0.
So far there have been 850 total entries in the event and 164 players have qualified for Day 2. It should also be noted that so far, no one has qualified for Day 2 through multiple starting days. The top qualifying stacks so far are north of 330K in chips.
Late registration is open until the end of the break following the first 4 levels of play, which is to say that you can register any time until 9:45 tonight. Late registrants receive a full stack when they take their seat in the tournament.
Good luck!
Event 3 Day 1e – final chip counts
Here are the final chip counts for Day 1e of The $250 Frenzy, Event 3 of the Playground Poker Spring Classic 2015 presented by partypoker.net. There were a total of 224 entrants in this starting flight of Event 3. 44 of these players have qualified for Day 2, which will start on Monday, April 27th at 7pm.
Any player may play in one or more additional starting flights. In the event that a player qualifies in two or more Day 1s, only their largest stack will move forward to Day 2. We will provide detailed records of any such activity when the official seating draw for Day 2 is released.
Note that these are unverified player-counted chip counts. All chips have been sealed in bags until they return to play on Day 2.

This is it! Day 1F of the $250 Frenzy
In just about one hour and 10 minutes, the final starting flight of The $250 Frenzy will be getting under way here at Playground Poker Club. This is the 6th of 6 starting days in the tournament, which is Event 3 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net.
Tonight’s opening flight is likely to be a little tense – and not only because it’s the last chance for players to qualify for Day 2 in the event. There is also a very important playoff hockey game on at the moment, and almost all of the screens are tuned to the action. There are players who support both teams in the Tournament Hall, and you can bet that they’re paying close attention to the outcome of both games!
At the end of the evening, we’ll have a full picture of the whole field that will begin Day 2 in the tournament tomorrow evening and continue to compete for the prize pool, which is greater than $200,000!
Last level of Day 1E
The players still in this afternoon’s fifth of 6 starting flights in The $250 Frenzy have now entered the final level of the day, following which the surviving players will bag their chips to return for Day 2, tomorrow at 7pm. We’ll have a full list of “survivors” and the stacks they have qualified with a few minutes after play has concluded.
New leaders in Day 1E
We have a new leaderboard for today’s starting flight in Event 3, The $250 Frenzy, although clearly there’s still a long way to go because only three players have managed to build up really large stacks – a situation that will certainly change as we get closer to the end of Day 1E.
- Randy Khalil – 158K
- Ian Middel – 112K
- Gary Lucci – 100K
After these three players there are quite a few players in the 70K – 90K range.
Some photos from level 8
Players are starting to build some pretty impressive stacks as this starting flight has progressed through almost 60% of the day. Although players know they can come back for Day 1F if they don’t qualify today, obviously most of the players would prefer to qualify right away.

Four “rabbits” leading out the field
Day 1E players are taking their first break of the day and we found just four players in the field who have managed to take an early lead, building up stacks of over 50K. Play will continue until the end of level 14 in this (and each) starting flight, but still – if having chips is an advantage (it is), these players have an early leg up on the rest of the field.
Note also that the final tally of entrants in this flight is 224, making this the strongest starting flight yet!
- Scott Plummer – 57K
- Maurice Simard – 56K
- Terence Lai – 55K
- Daniel Mackay – 52K
