The Final table of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship

    Trevor Delaney

Welcome to the conclusion of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship! Six players are back today to battle it out on the felts, but only one will become our WPT Champion, have their name inscribed on the WPT Champion’s Trophy, take home the WPT Canadian Spring Championship Belt, and of course pocket the $237,390 cash prize that comes along with everything. If that wasn’t enough, they will also earn a seat to the WPT World Championship, worth US$15,400!

Trevor Delaney (3,190,000) returns as our Day 5 chipleader, but not far behind are Sheraz NAsir (2,685,000) and Lu Zhang (2,500,000). On the shorter end of the leaderboard are Gary Lucci (1,205,000), Levi Stevens (765,000) and Dylan Wilkerson (740,000). With the shortest stack holding almost 25 big blinds, it’s really still anyones game at this point.

    Second Chance Champion: Jason Conforti

    2015/05/05 - 23:29 by Playground Poker

    Second Chance Champion: Jason Conforti

When heads-up play began between Jason Conforti and Ratharam Sivagnanam, Jason was more than a 2-to-1 underdog. There was a lot of back and forth between the two, but within a few orbits Jason managed to grind his stack into the lead.

On the final hand of play, Ratharam opened from the small blind, and then 4bet just over 1 million chips total after a 3bet to 100,000 from Jason, who made the call. When they tabled their hands, they realized they were virtually flipping for the bracelet, as Ratharam showed a pair of 4 of Clubs 4 of Spades, and Jason opened Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs. Jason spiked the window card to take the lead, and his top pair earned him the pot on the 7 of Spades 3 of Diamonds Ace of Clubs 5 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds board. When the dealer counted the stacks, he announced that Jason had Ratharam covered by a mere 40,000 in chips, making him our Event 13 champion!

Jason earned $37,105 for his victory, and is now the proud owner of a Playground Poker Spring Classic bracelet! Ratharam received a consolation prize of $25,970.

    Congratulations!
