    A deal has been reached!

    2015/04/24 - 4:31 by Playground Poker

When play fell down to 6-handed, the players asked to TD to pause the clock so they can discuss a deal. The decided to give the two chip leaders $4,000 each, and give $3,500 to the other 4 players. 5% has to be left for the eventual winner, as well as the Playground Poker Spring Classic bracelet, so the tournament is not over, but we should expect to see play open up a lot in the levels to come.

    Here are the prize distributions:

    • Christopher B – $4,000

    Morgan, Schreiber, Grover first casualties

Devon Morgan was sitting on less than 6 big blinds when he moved in from the button in an unopened pot. Unfortunately for him, his King of Hearts 5 of Hearts was crushed by the King of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds of V. L.. Even more unfortunate for Devon was the fact that V. flopped the nuts on the 10 of Diamonds Ace of Diamonds 9 of Diamonds 10 of Spades 6 of Diamonds board.

    10th place: Devon Morgan – $575

The Wild $150 Champion: Rick Shamshoum!

    2015/04/24 - 3:12 by Playground Poker

The Wild $150 Champion: Rick Shamshoum!

We have just crowned our first bracelet winner of this year’s edition of the Playground Poker Spring Classic, as Rick Shamshoum defeated heads-up opponent Philippe Lauzon to take home the bracelet, and the $28,780 prize that came along with it!

Heads-up play was fairly uni-directional, as Rick gave up very few pots, and won far more of them. In the last hand of play, Rick opened to 700,000, and quickly called when Philippe moved in for 5,175,000. He tabled Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds, and was in great shape versus the King of Diamonds Queen of Spades of Philippe. The board ran in favour of Rick, awarding him the pot and the victory!

    Congratulations Rick!

Rick Shamshoum won a big pot in the first hand of heads-up, as he called a preflop raise of 650,000, then check-called 725,000 on a flop of 4 of Diamonds 10 of Spades Queen of Spades. They both checked the 2 of Clubs turn, and when the river brought the King of Hearts, Rick once again checked, only to be faced with a bet of 1,775,000. After going in the tank for a few minutes, he announced the (hero) call, and tabled 10 of Hearts 7 of Hearts to best the 6 of Spades 7 of Spades of Philippe.
