Gary Lucci has once again doubled up, this time through Sheraz Nasir. Sheraz opened preflop from utg and when action returned to Gary, he announced “all in” and shifted his stacks towards the middle of the table. Shiraz snap called and the hole cards were revealed.

Gary: Ace of Spades Ace of Diamonds
Sheraz: Ace of Hearts Jack of Hearts

Gary stayed well ahead as the 5 community cards were dealt: 6 of Spades 5 of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts for the double up past 2M in chips.

    Lu Zhang

Lu Zhang suffered a tough beat just before the last break, but it doesn’t seem to have slowed her down in any way – in less than half a level she has added 1,660,000 to her stack while the other players have all lost some. She’s back to within 1M chips of Sheraz in 2nd place by chip count.

    Sheraz spikes the river

Levi opened from utg to 100,000, and was called by Gary on the button and by Sheraz on the small blind. Lu 3bet from the big blind to 425,000, and went heads-up with Sheraz, as the other two folded their cards.

On a flop of 7 of Hearts King of Clubs 3 of Hearts, Sheraz check-raised Lu’s 350,000 bet up to 1,000,000 flat. Lu followed up with an all-in, and got the call she was hoping for.

Lu: Ace of Hearts Ace of Spades

Sheraz: King of Diamonds Jack of Spades

Sheraz needed some help to remain on this final table, and although the turn 6 of Spades was a blank, the river King of Spades gave him the winning hand, and the current chip lead of the tournament!

Players are on a short break now, and here are the updated chip counts:

Trevor Delaney bluffs his way into 5th place

    Trevor Delaney

A huge hand just developed between the two chip leaders of this final table, as Lu Zhang just knocked Trevor Delaney out in 5th place to take the overwhelming chip lead here in Day 5 of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship.

Trevor opened from under the gun to 85,000, and called Lu’s 3bet to 185,000 from the button. Heads-up on the 3 of Spades 4 of Hearts 9 of Diamonds flop, Trevor donk-bet 180,000, and Lu called. On the 5 of Clubs turn, Trevor once again lead out, but this time for 230,000. Lu raised the bet up to 730,000, and found a call. When the King of Hearts peeled on the river, Trevor lead out for a third street, firing 395,000. Lu came over the top for 1,020,000 total, and was forced into a difficult decision when Trevor moved all-in for a total of 1,785,000. Lu eventually made the call, and tabled her Ace of Hearts Ace of Clubs for the win after Trevor showed his 6 of Clubs 6 of Spades.

Lu had Trevor covered in chips in the hand, sending him to the cashiers to collect his 5th place prize money.

The two smallest stacks to start Day 5 of the partypoker.net WPT Canadian Spring Championship belonged to Dylan Wilkerson and Levi Stevens. Levi had just a few more chips than Dylan, and they also happened to be seated right next to each other (Levi to the left of Dylan).

Dylan open raised preflop to 70K, Levi chose to put maximum pressure on his neighbour and shoved all in. Dylan made the call and the cards were turned over.

Levi: Ace of Spades Jack of Spades
Dylan: 9 of Hearts 9 of Diamonds

The flop was perfect for Levi: 3 of Diamonds Jack of Hearts 3 of Spades, and the 10 of Hearts and King of Spades on the turn and river couldn’t bring Dylan back from behind.

    6th place: Dylan Wilkerson, $47,470.00
