As you might predict at this stage in the tourney there has been a ton of early action as short-stacked players try and chip up and the leaders try and take the lead.
In a hand on table 39, Patrick Trinh and Alexandre Blanc tangled, blind on blind. We arrived at the table on a flop of and Patrick bet 40K, and Alexandre made the call. The on the turn brought check-check from the two players, and the on the river induced another bet from Patrick – 75K. Alexandre threw in a chip to make the call but instantly mucked upon seeing Patrick’s and Patrick raked a modest pot.
Just seconds later on table 36 found Billy Kurniawan all-in for his last ~370K and called by Michael Malm.

The board brought good things for both players: but hope faded a little on the turn. It wasn’t a diamond but the that saved Billy on the river, and he doubled up to stay alive.
