The 251 players who qualified to play in Day 2 have returned to the Tournament Hall, taken their seats at their new tables and unbagged their chips to resume play. Tournament staff have made their announcements and with that, cards are in the air!

Action will continue tonight until just 27 players remain – and along the way the tourney will pass the money bubble and the first few pay jumps. Blinds continue at 30 minutes per level until the end of level 26 and then extend to 40 minutes – another mark that should be reached tonight.

After 6 starting flights completed over the last 3 days, The $250 Frenzy saw a combined total of 1,248 entries – shattering the $200,000 guarantee. This Event 3 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic is now entering its next stage of being: Day 2.

251 players return tonight to pursue their mission of becoming The $250 Frenzy Champion, along the way pocketing a cool $50,000 prize and a Playground Poker Spring Classic Champion’s Trophy. Play is set to play down until the final 27 is reached, so we can expect there to be a lot action throughout the night. Almost exactly half the field will lock in a cash prize, as 126 players are schedule to be paid in this multi-day event.

Marco Lang is returning tonight as the tournament chip leader, having bagged an impressive 311,000 stack on his starting flight. Zheng-Yi Xie is the only other player over 300,000 at the moment, as he accumulated 307,000 chips after 14 levels of play.

The field is filled with talented local and visitor players, and given the nature of the game, anyone returning with chips tonight still has a chance at making it deep. After a seeming marathon of starting Day 1 flights – 6 in total – Event 3 is now ready to move on to its next phase, which begins with Day 2 on Monday April 25th at 7:00pm.

The event saw a total of 1,248 entries and of this number, 253 entries qualified for Day 2. However, two players managed to qualify for Day 2 via two separate Day 1s – so according to the rules, each of them has had their smaller stack retired from the tournament – meaning that there are 251 unique players who will be active when play resumes this evening. For the record, the two players who qualified twice were Ben Menache and Gael Forest.

The following table is the official seating chart for Day 2 of The $250 Frenzy, which is set to resume at 7:00pm on Monday April 25th. Play resumes in level 15, and when the tournament resumes, play will be 9-handed.

Note that these are player-recorded chip count totals. The actual chips have been sealed in bags which will be opened by the players to be returned to play on Day 2.
