Event 4 Champion: Andrew Dick

2016/04/25 - 20:03 by Playground Poker

Event 4 Champion: Andrew Dick

Event 4 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic was a NL Hold’em DeepStack Turbo which took place on Monday April 25th at noon. A total of 136 players participated in this 1-day event, of which 14 locked in a cash prize.

When play fell 6-handed, players decided to do an even-chop of the remaining prize pool ($1,700 each), awarding a touch more to chip-leader at the time Jeremie Trepanier ($1,797). The tournament structure required $265 extra to be left for the eventual winner, and once play resumed after the deal, the eliminations came very quickly. Many gambles were taken in an attempt to come out as tournament champion, and it was finally Andrew Dick who was the man with all the chips at the end of the tournament.

Troy Vandaalen tried his best to overcome Andrew in heads-up play, however in the final hand his Queen of Spades Jack of Spades was not able to overcome the King of Hearts 4 of Diamonds of Andrew, forcing him out in 2nd place.

Andrew Dick took home a total of $1,965 for his victory in Event 4, and was also awarded a Playground Poker Spring Classic Champion’s Trophy for his run.

Congratulations!

Event 4: Results

2016/04/25 - 20:02 by Playground Poker

Event 4 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net was a $100 + $10 NL Hold’em Deepstack Turbo tournament that began on April 15th 2106 at 12pm. There were 136 players in the tournament which added up to a prize pool of $13,192.00. 14 players were in the money and received prizes according to the following table.

Note there was a player deal reached at 6 players remaining. They agreed to reserve $265 and the Champion’s trophy for the winner and to divide the remaining prize pool evenly among them except for $97 which was added to the big chip leader’s prize immediately. The following payout table reflects this agreement. As the event was played to a conclusion, the order reflects the actual order of finish, which accounts for why a lower-ranked player earned a larger prize than a player who finished later.

After almost 15-minutes of back-and-forth, the final 6 players in Event 4 have come to an agreement. They have agreed to take an (almost) even-share of the prize pool each, leaving behind the required $265 behind for the eventual winner, who will also take home a Playground Poker Spring Classic Champion’s Trophy.

Given Jeremie Trepantier was ahead of the other 5, he asked for a slightly larger piece of the prize. He will take home $1,797, while the other 5 players lock-in $1,700. As stipulated by the tournament rules, play must continue until there is a winner – and this player will collect the trophy, as well as the additional $265 in cash.

    Congratulations!

4 quick eliminations occurred in the level following the last break, as David, Gilles, Daniel and Alec hit the rail a little shy of the money.

Event 4 is now in the money, and only 14 players remain with chips in hand. A few short stacks have developed leading up to the money, so we can expect to reach the final table soon enough.
