Two quick eliminations before the break

    Kevin Edward Joudrey

Event 6 saw two quick eliminations happen in the first moments of the final table.

On the first hand, Rene Berube was all-in blind with under 2bb in the big blind position, and doubled through Alan Dong.

On the next hand, action folded around to short-stacked Kevin Edward Joudrey, who shoved from the button. Rene isolated from the small blind, and knocked his opponent out with Ace of Clubs 10 of Diamonds over Queen of Spades 6 of Spades to bring him back in contention.

A few hands later, Placide Junior Sanon opened the action from late position, finding calls from both Kethees in the small blind, and Eric Nuss in the big blind. When the flop brought 10 of Hearts 10 of Clubs Jack of Hearts, Eric moved all-in, and was followed by Placide, who had the shorter of the two stacks. After Kethees reluctantly folded, Eric tabled 10 of Spades 4 of Spades, and was trailing the 10 of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds of Placide. The 3 of Spades turn didn’t change much, but the 4 of Diamonds on the river gave Eric the win.

    10th place: Kevin Edward Joudrey – $410.00

    The final table is set

Only 10 “Bounty-Hunters” remain here in Event 6, and they have been merged down to one final table. There is a scheduled break in a few short minutes, during which we will bring an update on chip counts, but by glancing over at player stacks it seems to be Eric Nuss who leads with roughly 1.35 million, with Michele Black inches behind and over the 1.2 million chip mark.

Event 6 is well into the money now, although given the Bounty format some players have already been assured of a cash prize for some time now, as every knockout puts $100 cash in the winner’s pockets.

The current chip leader is Alan Yi Fan Dong, who sit on over 750,000 in chips and a stack of bounty chips. Not far behind is Nabil Assaff, with roughly 700,000.

Only 19 players remain at the moment, seated as follows:

    Tonight! Event 6, the $220 50/50 Bounty

    2016/04/26 - 19:24 by

    Tonight! Event 6, the $220 50/50 Bounty

Tonight in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net is the first of 3 Bounty tournaments in this year’s festival, the $100 + $20 + $100 50/50 Bounty tournament. As the name and the way the buy-in is expressed indicates, this is a special kind of bounty tourney in which half of a player’s buy-in goes to the prize pool to be awarded at the end of the evening, while the other half goes to a $100 bounty chip that each player keeps with his or her stack. When a player is eliminated, they lose not only their stack but this bounty chip as well. Players can thus accumulate bounty chips throughout the tournament, one per player they knock out of the tourney – and at $100 each, it can add up!

Bounty tournaments are very popular here at Playground Poker Club, and the exaggerated bounty in this version of the format only seems to make it more popular. Late registration is open until the end of the break following level 4, which means that players can buy-in and receive a full stack until just around 9:00pm tonight.

Players start with 20K in tournament chips and blind levels are 20 minutes long. This is a one-day tournament, so whatever happens, it will wrap up in the early morning hours of the 27th with a champion.

    Good luck!
