    Marco Lang

Following an early-position limp from Simon Pin-Disle and a button raise to 335,000 from Ziggy, Marco Lang slid forward his 1,205,000 stack. Simon folded his hand, and Ziggy threw in some calling chips.

Ziggy: Ace of Spades King of Hearts

Marco: Ace of Diamonds 9 of Hearts

Board: 4 of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds 3 of Hearts Jack of Hearts Ace of Clubs

After seeing his stack drop a little in the last orbit or two, Ziggy was back to his usual antics of stacking chips.

    8th place: Marco Lang – $5,200.00

    Final Table – Event 5

The final 10 players in Event 5 – the $550 Freeze that started today at 11am – have now assembled at the final table as play continues towards the top of the rankings – and the most lucrative slots in the prize pool!

As a 1-day event, the fact that the average stack is still 21 bb deep says a lot about the field – they have been working their way down to this point at a reasonable clip. Once a few of the final short stacks are eliminated, the tournament should get at least a little deeper as players compete for the biggest prizes.

For the second hand in a row, Ziggy raised the action to 250,000 and was 3bet shoved by a player in the blinds. Bob got away with it in the first hand, however Ziggy was not ready to fold the second time around, and called Simon Pin-Disle who moved in for 1,405,000 from the small blind.

Ziggy: Ace of Hearts Jack of Spades

Simon: Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds

Ziggy spiked the flop, but Simon turned the nuts on a board of Jack of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds 2 of Spades Queen of Clubs 9 of Spades to bring him up to average stack.

There is a scheduled chip-up break in 15 minutes, during which an update on the chip counts will be brought.

    Duy Toan Pham

Duy Toan Pham was all-in one hand after being crippled by both Bob and Azim, as he threw in his remaining 3bb. He found himself all-in versus two players, Jaroslaw and Tomas, however Tomas backed down on the turn after Jaroslaw fired a second bullet into the side pot.

Jaroslaw: King of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds

Duy: King of Spades 6 of Hearts

Board: Queen of Spades Jack of Diamonds 6 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds 10 of Spades

By the time hands were tabled, Duy was already drawing dead to Jaroslaw’s king-high flush.

    9th place: Duy Toan Pham – $4,000.00

    Lavji triples up

Azim Lavji has been running quite bad with pocket kings tonight, as he lost two huge pots prior to the final table with them in hand.

He arrived as one of the shorter stacks on this final table, and doubled up on the first hand versus Bob. He waited patiently for his next move, and found himself all-in with pocket kings – and this time versus two opponents!

Azim: King of Diamonds King of Clubs

Bob: Ace of Spades Queen of Spades

Duy: King of Spades Queen of Hearts

Board: Ace of Hearts Queen of Clubs 6 of Spades 3 of Clubs King of Hearts

Azim was one card from being eliminated, and going 0-for-3 with pocket kings, until the King of Hearts sprung up on the river. He tripled his 705,000 stack – while Bob nearly broke even, taking 825,000 from Duy (who was left with just about 300,000).

    10th place: Richard Myron

    Richard Myron

With a few hundred thousand already in the middle, Maxime Theroux check-called a bet of 500,000 from Richard Myron on a turn with the board showing 9 of Diamonds 8 of Spades Ace of Spades 2 of Clubs. When the river brought the 3 of Spades, Maxime fired all-in, forcing Richard into the tank. After a moment of silence, Richard announced the call only to see Maxime had completed the flush with Queen of Spades 9 of Spades. He tabled a second-best Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds, and slid his remaining chips over to his neighbour.

    10th place: Richard Myron – $3,000.00

Dany Pacitti has been the first player eliminated in the money in Event 5. We missed the action in the hand, but Dany had been short since well before the last break and managed to survive long enough for a min-cash of $1,100.

Next to go was Francesco Maltese in 13th for $1,195. Francesco tried hard to get some kind of bubble save agreement in place but was unsuccessful as the more experienced players refused the deal flat.

Just 3 hands later, James Marvin Loder was eliminated in 12th place, also for $1,195, leaving the tournament just one elimination from the final table.

Event 5 is now officially In the Money as Marc-Andre Racine got his last 12K in the middle holding Jack of Spades 7 of Hearts. Marc-André was a little lucky to get a fold from the sb but the raise was less than the bb so Sébastien Proulx effectively called… but he held Queen of Spades Queen of Hearts and a huge lead.

The board ran out 4 of Hearts Jack of Diamonds 10 of Spades 5 of Spades 8 of Diamonds and Marc-André hit the rail empty-handed. There are several very short stacks left at the two tables so the first few payouts should come quickly… and before long there’ll be a final table.
