The 251 players who qualified to play in Day 2 have returned to the Tournament Hall, taken their seats at their new tables and unbagged their chips to resume play. Tournament staff have made their announcements and with that, cards are in the air!

Action will continue tonight until just 27 players remain – and along the way the tourney will pass the money bubble and the first few pay jumps. Blinds continue at 30 minutes per level until the end of level 26 and then extend to 40 minutes – another mark that should be reached tonight.

    Good luck to all!

He was looked up by Jean-Francois Santerre in the big blind, who held ace-high, and with no help on the board, Anish was eliminated deep in this Event 4.

  • Small Blind: 1.5K
  • Big Blind: 3K
  • Ante: 500
  • Chip Average: 100K

After 6 starting flights completed over the last 3 days, The $250 Frenzy saw a combined total of 1,248 entries – shattering the $200,000 guarantee. This Event 3 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic is now entering its next stage of being: Day 2.

251 players return tonight to pursue their mission of becoming The $250 Frenzy Champion, along the way pocketing a cool $50,000 prize and a Playground Poker Spring Classic Champion’s Trophy. Play is set to play down until the final 27 is reached, so we can expect there to be a lot action throughout the night. Almost exactly half the field will lock in a cash prize, as 126 players are schedule to be paid in this multi-day event.

Marco Lang is returning tonight as the tournament chip leader, having bagged an impressive 311,000 stack on his starting flight. Zheng-Yi Xie is the only other player over 300,000 at the moment, as he accumulated 307,000 chips after 14 levels of play.

The field is filled with talented local and visitor players, and given the nature of the game, anyone returning with chips tonight still has a chance at making it deep. You can follow live updates and photos from tonight’s Day 2 via our Playground Poker Live Event Blog. If you wish to receive an update on a specific player, you can Tweet us at @playgroundpoker and we will do our best to answer you promptly!

Cards are in the air at 7pm sharp.

    See you on the felts!

4 quick eliminations occurred in the level following the last break, as David, Gilles, Daniel and Alec hit the rail a little shy of the money.

Event 4 is now in the money, and only 14 players remain with chips in hand. A few short stacks have developed leading up to the money, so we can expect to reach the final table soon enough.

Event 4 has reached the final 2 tables, as only 18 players remain in action from the 136 that started the day. The structure pays 14 places, meaning the tournament bubble is nearing us very fast. The $220 prize for 14th place is an interesting compensation, however we all know that most of the players are only looking at that top prize worth $3,182 – which of course is accompanied by a stunning Playground Poker Spring Classic Champion’s Trophy to immortalize the win.

Below is the seating arrangements for the final 18 players, with their full chip counts at the break following level 18:

    3 tables remain

Action is moving fast here in the later stages of Event 4 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic, much attributed to the quick blind structure of this DeepStack Turbo. Roughly half the field will ensure themselves a cash prize at this point, and the effects of the bubble are already taking place.

Players will be on break in a little over 30 minutes from now, at which point we will bring a detailed update on the leaderboard.
