    Day 1d of The Wild $150 is well into level 2, and so far a massive 287 players have already showed up. As per usual, late registration is open until the end of the first break, giving players up until 9:10pm to jump into the tournament.

    This final flight is on pace to being the biggest of the four, meaning the prize pool for this opening event to the Playground Poker Spring Classic will surely be a big one! Everyone still has a chance at taking home a piece of the prize, but hurry, as late registration closes in a little over 75 minutes.

    WPT Satellite Winners today!

    Today's satellite winners!

    Today at noon was the beginning of the first “in-festival” satellite for the WPT Canadian Spring Championship. We hosted satellites twice weekly in the run-up to the Spring Classic, and there are still 8 more scheduled satellites between now and the WPT! So far, a total of 36 seats have been won through live satellites, with many more to come in the next 2 weeks.

    Today’s tourney was a real bargain – it was a $135 + $15 re-entry tournament (with a $5 dealer-add on) that had 40 entries plus 16 re-entries – 56 total. This contributed to a prize pool of 2 entries in the WPT Canadian Spring Championship, plus a $560 prize for the player in 3rd place.

    The three-way battle in the tourney was very hard-fought – appropriately so, considering the pay jump from $560 to $3500 – and at the end of the day, the winners were Isham Yamani and Zhen Wang, who edged out Grigoire Miron Banea for the 2nd seat.

    In the final hand of the tourney, Zhen pushed holding Jack of Spades 9 of Hearts and was instantly called by Grigoire, holding 8 of Diamonds 8 of Clubs. When admitted after the dust settled that it was simply a move on his part – but the board ran out in his favour: 9 of Spades 2 of Hearts Jack of Hearts 5 of Clubs King of Spades and he took down the seat.

    There are still 41 WPT entries guaranteed in upcoming scheduled satellites – and that doesn’t count what is likely to be many sit-n-go satellites that will also be held as we approach the WPT. This is one of the best ways to enter the big event – you should give it a shot!

    Tonight – Day 1d in The Wild $150

    Three of the four Day 1s of this edition of The Wild $150 are in the books with just a single starting flight left to go – Day 1d, tonight at 7:00pm! There have already been 826 total entries in the event, and with the prize pool guarantee already surpassed, every additional entry tonight will just add more money to an already sizeable prize pool!

    Of the 826 entries, 168 players have qualified for Day 2 so far. One player has qualified through 2 different Day 1s, however, so that player’s smallest stack will be removed from play and going into the final starting flight there are 167 players set to resume play in Day 2. The following table lists all of the qualifiers so far through the first three flights in the tournament.

    Tonight’s qualifiers will be added to this list, which means that Day 2 is certain to be a busy day with at least 200 and probably more like 230 or 240 returning to the tables tomorrow night. The results of tonight’s starting flight will tell the tale!

    Event 1 Day 1c – final counts

    Tonight was the 3rd of 4 starting flights in the Wild $150, also known as Day 1c of Event 1 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net. There was a massive field of 326 entries in this flight, bringing the total number of runners in the event so far to 826. 68 players from this field qualified for Day 2 by having chips at the end of 14 levels. Day 2 will begin on Wednesday April 20th at 7pm.

    Any player who has already entered one of the three starting flights already on the books in the tournament may re-enter in the final starting flight (Day 1d) tonight at 7pm – this is a “next day re-entry” event, meaning that players enter each of the 4 starting flights once.

    The third Day of of Event 1 in the Playground Poker Spring Classic presented by partypoker.net has been running for more than 2 hours now, and late registration has now closed. Registration tonight was so strong there were 32 alternates admitted to the tourney, and tonight’s total of 326 combines with the 500 entries on Days 1a and 1b to bring the event well past the mark required to meet the $100,000 guarantee.

    At the last break just one player has broken out from the field: Jesse Salazar, who had already accumulated 78,500 in chips. Notwithstanding the excitement in the room that goes with the beginning of a 3-week long festival – and a nice prize pool building in this tourney – the play in the event so far is slow and steady, even conservative. That’s almost certain to pass though as the action heats up!
