Marcello Delgrasso might wind up thinking about his final hands in the WPT Canadian Spring Championship over and over again, as two unfortunate hands lead to his elimination.

In the first hand, he opened to 38,000 from the button, and Brian Altman clicked-it-back from the small blind. Rene Fortin then 4bet shoved from the big blind for 105,000, leading to Marcello folding. Brian made the quick call for a few thousand more, and as players tabled their hands Marcello flashed his folded cards – AJ-offsuit.

Brian: King of Hearts 6 of Clubs
Rene: 9 of Spades 10 of Spades

Board: 8 of Spades 10 of Diamonds 3 of Hearts 3 of Diamonds Ace of Hearts

Much to the disgust of Marcello, who folded what would have been the winning hand, Rene found a doubled up worth around 250,000. It is no surprise then that on the very next hand Marcello was not willing to let go of his hand, especially as he was dealt AJ-offsuit once again!. He found himself all-in versus Brian Altman, who had the goods this time.

Marcello: Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs
Brian: Queen of Clubs Queen of Hearts

Board: 6 of Clubs 9 of Diamonds 3 of Diamonds King of Hearts 10 of Spades

With Marcello’s elimination, this Main Event is now down to 2 final tables, and a redraw was called for. While the other tables were playing their last hand before the redraw, we lost Michael Noor, who ended his deep run in 18th place.
