We just witnessed an amazing hand between Samuel Tsehai and Guillaume Nolet, the result of which was Guillaume doubling through Samuel.
We arrived on the flop with just the two players still in the hand: . Samuel bet 50K and Guillaume made the call. The turn paired the board again – and Samuel again bet 50K. This time Guillaume went in the tank to consider all of the options. Eventually he put out nine blue chips and 5 yellows to add up to 50K for the call.
The river was the , and Samuel didn’t take long to shove – but found an insta-call from Guillaume, who tabled for a full house – though he almost certainly didn’t need at all. We missed Samuel’s hole cards when they were tabled (they were quickly mucked).
Update: We learned a little later that Samuel was bluffing the entire way with Jack high, and Guillaume’s understanding of Sam’s range excluded most combos containing a deuce or a 4. In other words, Guillaume had the read cold the whole way.
