Play in the All-Stars for Starlight event is set to resume in just minutes as 266 players take their new seats to resume with the stacks they bagged up on the Day 1 flight through which they qualified. In fact, there were 269 qualifiers but three players qualified through two separate starting flight. Those players’ smallest stack has been removed from play – leaving 266 unique players.
There are two chip leaders going into play on Day 2 with over 310,000 in tournament chips. Henri Lajoie is the leader to start with 312,500 but immediately behind him on the leaderboard is Charles-Eric Benoit, who is a very experienced and talented player who is well-known at Playground Poker Club for his skills on the felt.
Play to start the day will likely be extremely quick as small-stacked players try for the quick double-up, and before too long the tournament will reach the bubble, which will be reached when 118 players remain – 117 will be paid. In a tournament with this buy-in, however, the bubble is generally not a long, drawn-out affair so by the end of today’s scheduled 13 levels of play the field should be quite small.
For now, though… good luck to all of the Day 2 qualifiers!
