Event 7 in the WPT Montreal just started, and already over 70 players are registered and looking at their first hands. The 6-Max format is a true player favourite, as it brings a lot of action.

Players will play down to a winner in our brand new tournament floor. Players start with 30 000 chips and levels will be 20-minute long. You have until 6:15PM to join the 6-Max action.

Good luck to all short-handed players!

The PLO event is nearing the first break. In level 4, Samuel Miranda threw a 6K bet on a river, thinking he could steal a pot from Pirooz Bayat, but the latter was on a river check bump-raise! Miranda folded.

Meanwhile, Kevin Rivest, who had built a very nice stack early, lost half of it to Daniel Neilson’s 4 of Diamonds 3 of Spades 6 of Diamonds 5 of Spades. Neilson flopped the nut straight, and despite the board pairing on the turn – 6 of Clubs 2 of Diamonds 5 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts Queen of Clubs – he managed to double a full stack through Kevin.

Level 4 of the $1,100 PLO just started, and 8 players have already hit the rail, 4 of which have chosen to re-enter. The field just passed the 50-entry mark, which is half what is needed to reach the 100K guarantee. That being said, there are 5 more levels to the registration period, and as the blinds get higher, re-entries will pick up the pace.

A very special guest just joined the event: Mr. Mike Sexton! Member of the Poker Hall of Fame, Mike is also the official partypoker Chairman and one of the most famous poker commentators on the planet. In a very dramatic and poetic turn of events, after commentating WPT finals for years, he took down his very first WPT title in 2016, right here at Playground Poker Club! Come check raise the legend!

Event 6 – PLO is underway. The tournament started on 3 tables, but we are now into level 2, and 38 players have joined the event so far. The action unfolds on the left side of the tournament hall, and the field is a happy mix of local PLO regulars and visiting players, eager to rub shoulders with the Montreal PLO scene.

    Four cards, please!

It is Sunday, November 4th, the last day of the WPT Montreal 2018. Three tournaments will see their conclusion today, and two more will play their first and last hand, as the PLO and 6-Max are both 1-Day events. The $500 6-Max will get underway at 3PM.

For now, as the Main Event plays down to a WPT Champion on the live stream, we focus on the $1,000 PLO event! Many players have been eagerly waiting for this event, as it is the only one where you are dealt 4 cards, and no players like playing poker with 4 cards. You either don’t care for it, or you absolutely, unconditionally love it! Well, it’s time! 30 000 chips is the starting stack, and players can count on the unlimited re-entry format for 8 full levels, plus the break at the end of level 8. Players will keep joining and rejoining the action until 5:30PM, at which point the prizes will be made available.

One more thing… the guarantee is $100,000$!

Cards are in the air in 10 minutes. Good luck!
