Louis Boutin moved in for 98,000 from the button in an unopened pot, and Edward Lin made the call from the big blind.

Louis: Ace of Clubs 6 of Hearts
Edward: Queen of Spades Jack of Hearts

Edward couldn’t connect with the 4 of Clubs King of Hearts 3 of Spades King of Spades 8 of Clubs board and saw 40% of his stack get shipped across the table. He was left with a little over 150,000 after the hand, tying him for short stack with Marc-Andre Ladouceur.

Balakrish Patur claimed another victim as we find ourselves midway through level 25, our third 60-minute level of the day. Mark A. raised all in preflop for 675,000, and after not too long a time, Balakrish called.

Balakrish: Ace of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds

Mark A.: 9 of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds

It appears that Mark was caught on a bluff, and Balakrish capitalized. The board came down 5 of Diamonds Jack of Hearts 2 of Spades 10 of Clubs 3 of Spades, and Mark’s night was over, but he will collect $9,700 for his efforts over the last few days.

Level 20 has just begun, and play remains 8-handed. Tommy Nguyen has chipped up to nearly 1,000,000 chips, and his stack more than doubles any other player. Louis Boutin and Marc-Andre Ladouceur are the two short stacks in play, both with under 150,000 in chips, while the other 5 players sit between 200,000 and 400,000.

Play has been rather tame in the last few orbits, although this may be the quiet before the storm as it’s decision time soon for a few of the players here.

At table 60, we just saw Jean Francois Bouchard solidify his position, doubling up at the expense of Giancarlo Palleschi.

We joined the hand a little late, with the flop a 10 of Hearts 2 of Clubs 3 of Spades, and a relatively small amount in the pot, perhaps 150K. There were three players in the hand at first, and the table checked around on the flop. A 2 of Spades came down on the turn, at which point Daniel Dubeau (the third player in the hand) opened with a 50,000 chip bet. Jean Francois  called, but Giancarlo raised it to 175,000.

Giancarlo’s bet pushed Daniel out of the hand, but Francois was game, and the river was dealt a 4 of Spades. Francois shoved with his smallish stack of 275,000 remaining chips, and Giancarlo called.

Francois: Queen of Spades 9 of Spades

Giancarlo: Ace of Diamonds 2 of Hearts

Francois had made his flush, and extended his tournament life.

Players are presently on their first break of the day, and after a quick chip count we have discovered that David Quang has catapulted himself into the chip lead with a staggering 4,665,000 chips.

Indeed, all the players at the final three tables can boast an impressive chip count, but there are really only three other in the same vicinity at the moment, listed below. With only 20 players remaining, the action is heating up!

Tommy Nguyen opened to 15,000 from late position, and Jordan Westmorland 3-bet all-in from the cutoff for 143,000. Once action swung back around to Tommy, he slammed forward some chips to put his opponent at risk.

Jordan: Ace of Diamonds Queen of Diamonds
Tommy: Ace of Hearts King of Hearts

Tommy’s big slick held for the win on a 4 of Hearts Ace of Spades 2 of Diamonds 2 of Hearts Jack of Diamonds board, boosting his stack up above 900,000 and increasing his lead on this final table.

    9th place: Jordan Westmorland – $27,000
