The remaining players in the WPT Montreal 6-Max event are now in the money. It has taken just under 7 and a half hours to whittle the field down to 30 players, at which point play became hand-for-hand until the player in 30th place was eliminated. This turned out to be Richard Singh on table 73, who is the unfortunate “bubble player” in the event.

The rest of the players are all in the money! The minimum cash is $900 – but the prizes go all the way up to $26,500!

    Congratulations!

The High Roller is down to heads-up play, with Ajay Chabra and Tommy Nguyen ready to battle for the title. The winner is set to take home $270,000 along with the champion’s trophy, while second place will earn a consolation prize of $182,500.

Ajay begins with the slight chip lead, holding 1,550,000 versus the 1,360,000 of Tommy. With a 70BB average stack this tournament can swing in either direction.

Congratulations on your deep runs, and best of luck!

Joey Weissman, the short-stack in 3-way action, managed to find a double-up through Ajay Chabra before moving all-in again pre-flop. His button-shove was looked up by Ajay from the small blind, and Tommy Nguyen let him opponents duel it out.

Joey: Ace of Hearts 4 of Hearts
Ajay: Ace of Clubs Queen of Hearts

Board: 3 of Spades 6 of Spades 9 of Spades 8 of Clubs 7 of Hearts

Joey was eliminated in the hand, leaving the High Roller event in 3rd place.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur, recently crippled by Ajay Chabra, moved in for his remaining 160,000 from the button, and Ajay made the call from the small blind.

Marc-Andre: Ace of Hearts 10 of Hearts
Ajay: King of Hearts Jack of Diamonds

Ajay smashed the flop and eliminated a fierce opponent on a King of Spades 6 of Hearts King of Clubs 6 of Clubs 5 of Hearts board to bring the High Roller down to 3-way action.

    4th place: Marc-Andre Ladouceur – $87,000

After a fantastic tournament, Balakrish Patur’s night is done. It seems he couldn’t quite recover from the huge loss of chips that accompanied his skirmish with Daniel Dubeau.

Board: 3 of Spades 8 of Diamonds Jack of Clubs LQh Queen of Diamonds

He was all in for less than 1,000,000 chips (the average chip stack is almost 3,500,000) with an Ace of Hearts 7 of Hearts, but his opponent had him dominated with an Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs.

Congratulations goes out to Balakrish, who takes home a prize of $22,300 for his 9th place finish.

Marc-Andre Ladouceur opened to 45,000 from the button, and without hesitation called the all-in of Ajay Chabra in the small blind.

Marc-Andre: Ace of Clubs King of Diamonds
Ajay: 6 of Clubs 6 of Spades

Marc-Andre took the lead on the flop, however Ajay locked in the pot by turning a set on the 4 of Spades Ace of Diamonds Queen of Clubs 6 of Hearts 5 of Clubs board. Ajay doubled up to 1,110,000, leaving Marc-Andre with 210,000 behind.
