Big stack, Nikola Isaev, went all in, preflop. But after Hicham Hammoud called, fellow competitor, and small stack on table 77, Daniel Andrei, uttered: “Finally.” He looked around the table, and at me, explaining. “Every time he bets he (Nikola) goes all in. It’s been like thirty times in a row.” The other players at the table nodded their heads in agreement.

Nikola turned over 8 of Diamonds Jack of Hearts, and Hicham revealed King of Hearts King of Diamonds.

When the flop was dealt 4 of Hearts 3 of Spades 10 of Diamonds, Hicham sighed. “Don’t sink me now.” He looked at the dealer.

The turn came down 2 of Clubs and Hicham smiled. The river was a 6 of Diamonds, and Hicham doubled up his 96,000 chips.

Fresh into the final table, we witnessed a big hand right off the bat.

Although we missed the initial action, it was clear that a huge hand was brewing once we heard Daniel Dubeau’s insta-call of Balakrish Patur’s all in.

Daniel was holding a Ace of Diamonds 5 of Clubs on a 3 of Hearts 4 of Spades Ace of Spades 2 of Hearts 8 of Diamonds board, making the wheel. Balakrish’s Jack of Clubs 9 of Clubs didn’t stand a chance and Daniel’s chip count swelled to near 5,000,000.

NOTE: While this post was being written, Balakrish all-in’d again, this time winning the hand and doubling up the small amount of chips he had left.

After losing the majority of his chips a few orbits ago to Ajay Chabra, Pascal Lefrancois was trying his best to spin up his short stack. He managed to increase it three-fold before Marc-Andre Ladouceur sent him to the rail.

Marc-Andre opened to 35,000 from the cutoff, and Pascal defended his big blind. On a 10 of Spades 3 of Spades Queen of Spades flop, Pascal checked, Marc-Andre bet 30,000, Pascal moved all-in for 105,000 and Marc-Andre called.

Marc-Andre: King of Spades 10 of Diamonds
Pascal: Ace of Spades 3 of Diamonds

Pascal needed to connect with the running cards to remain in the game, however the turn 8 of Hearts and river 9 of Hearts resulted in his elimination from the High Roller.

    5th place: Pascal Lefrancois – $64,000

Ajay Chabra open shoved for 235,000 from the cutoff, and Pascal Lefrancois put him at risk from the big blind, committing the majority of his stack in the process.

Ajay: Ace of Hearts 8 of Diamonds
Pascal: King of Clubs Queen of Hearts

Board: 8 of Hearts 10 of Hearts 7 of Diamonds 4 of Diamonds 4 of Clubs

Ajay found a key double-up to keep him in the game, leaving his opponent with only 50,000 behind.

Pascal managed to double-up on the next hand with Ace of Spades 9 of Hearts versus Joey Weissman’s King of Hearts 3 of Diamonds, and then steal the blinds shortly after. He is now playing almost 150,000.
