One of the points of interest in the WSOP World Championship every summer is to note who is the last woman standing in the event – and at least until a woman wins the event outright, that will likely continue to be the case. As we surveyed the Tournament Hall, we noted that the two most recent “winners” of this distinction are both in the field today. These are just two of the strong group of women players in this event so far. Some of the other very strong competitors include Melanie Weisner, Laurence Grondin, Karine Broeckaert, Khaly Dang, Loni Harwood, and more.
- Yuan Li finished in 105th place in 2017 and she joined the field today following a very impressive 3rd place finish in the WSOP-C Playground Main Event held here in September.
- Kelly Minkin is also in the field today. She finished in 50th place in this year’s WSOP Main Event, and recently added a 3rd place finish to her poker resume as well, having gone deep in the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble Main Event earlier in October.
