Two more eliminations; time for heads up action

    2018/11/05 | 1:40 by

Since Adam Volen was eliminated in 5th place, action continued at a quick clip and before too long both Rishi Makkar and long-time chip leader Nikola Isaev were eliminated.

Rishi open shoved preflop and Nikola called – Rishi’s stack had become quite small by that point.

Rishi: Ace of Diamonds 6 of Spades
Nikola: Ace of Hearts 9 of Clubs

The community cards: 5 of Spades Queen of Clubs 8 of Clubs 6 of Clubs 7 of Hearts – Nikola had made a straight and stacked the chips.

After a couple of reversals, however, it was Nikola’s turn to risk his tournament life, this time holding 10 of Clubs 10 of Hearts. He raised preflop from utg and Sasan Mehrabian shoved over the top. Nikola made the call and was unsurprised to see Sasan’s Ace of Hearts King of Spades – it was a classic race.

Not for long, though – the flop came King of Hearts Ace of Diamonds 6 of Spades and though the Queen of Diamonds on the turn raised a slight bit of hope for Nikola – the 6 of Clubs removed all doubt and he passed the chips to Sasan, on his left.

Play is now heads up between Sasan and Jean-Luc Desormeaux, and Sasan starts with 5:1 chip advantage.

    3rd place: Nikola Isaev, $19,435

    4th place: Rishi Makkar, $9,725
